Can Tanith

Lovely recently renovated house with tasteful furniture and everything you could need for a really relaxing couple days off. There’s plenty of well kept outside space and outdoor furniture, including TWO balconies, and a smart TV, and the kitchen was so well stocked with utensils we managed to make the tastiest bunch of mussels we’d ever had. Eric was massively helpful and fyi has the cutest dog. Would definitely recommend.

Wir waren Pfingsten 2022 im Wunderschönen Can Tanith.
Erik ist ein sehr netter und unkomplizierter Gastgeber, stets erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Das Haus und der Pool sind sehr gepflegt und sauber.
Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet was benötigt wird.
Wir waren 5 Personen und haben sehr schöne 2 Wochen auf dem Anwesen verbracht , sehr gut geeignet für viele Unternehmungen in der Umgebung.
5 Sterne von uns und eine absolute Empfehlung.

Can Tanith is een prachtig en ruim huis, zeer smaakvol ingericht en voorzien van alle gemakken voor een groot aantal mensen. Zelfs eind oktober leefden we nog vooral buiten, waar je overal fijne plekjes vindt om te zitten, van de tuin vol eetbare vruchten tot het zwembad én het mooie terras met grote tafel en buitenkeuken. Op de terreinfietsen is het maar een klein stukje naar het strand, waar je heerlijk kunt eten (La Barraca is een aanrader), of naar de Ebrodelta. Eigenaar Eric is erg vriendelijk en zorgzaam, en kan je alle tips geven die nodig zijn voor een heerlijk verblijf hier. Wij komen terug!

Supertof. Ik en mijn vrienden waren het er over eens dat het een ideale plek is om met vrienden samen te zijn omdat je kan afzonderen omdat iedere kamer een eigen balkon heeft en er genoeg "plekjes" in de tuin zijn. De veranda, het terras en het zwembad waren de plaatsen waar we gezellig gegeten en gehangen hebben. Er is trouwens een fantastische winkel bij de zee die alle mogelijke schelpdieren,vis, kreeften,... verkoopt(mijn walhalla). 1 tip : vlieg op Reus als dat kan want dan is het nog maar 1 uurtje rijden. Het is de perfecte plaats voor fietsers alhoewel ik dat niet ben.

Can Tanith is een geweldig vakantiehuis met alle voorzieningen de je je maar kan wensen, en: een mooi zwembad. Wat een ruimte in en rondom het huis, overal wel een plek om in of uit de zon te zitten. We hebben heerlijk gefietst met de drie aanwezige mountain bikes naar een paar natuurreservaten in de delta volop flamingos en andere vogels. De tuin is prachtig in deze tijd van het jaar, overal bloeiende vetplanten en cactussen. Hier willen we nog wel een keer naar toe! Eric, veel dank voor je goede zorgen en gezelligheid.

Een heel fijn ruim, licht en smaakvol huis waar je comfortabel met een groep kunt verblijven. Lekker eten op het terras, zitjes bij het zwembad en op verschillende plekken in de grote groene tuin, echt heel leuk en idyllisch. We hebben ook genoten van de omgeving: strand, bergen, de rivierdelta (ideaal voor fietstochtjes) en de markt in het dorp.
De volgende keer blijven we langer.

We had a great time. Eric was super nice, house is very well equipped, cozy and nice.

Das Haus und der Garten mit Terrasse und Pool sind sehr gepflegt.
Eric ist wirklich sehr nett und
hilfsbereit.
Wir haben dort zwei schöne Wochen verbracht.
Das Haus benötigt alles, was man braucht. Handtücher und Bettwäsche sind vorhanden.
Leider waren von den vier Schlafzimmern nur zwei mit
Klimaanlage ausgestattet.
Bei fast vierzig Grad nicht so toll.
Auch im Ess-Wohnbereich gibt es keine. Aber das ist kein Problem gewesen.
Lässt man die Rollos tagsüber unten und die Türen geschlossen, ist es angenehm kühl darin. Es stehen auch Ventilatoren zur Verfügung.
Also, trotz Hitze war es dennoch ein wunderschöner Urlaub, zu jeder Zeit wieder.

WOW... I don’t even know how to start this... we booked the house for 12 days, the owner was very nice and friendly when we arrived. He showed us everything around the house and he asked us nicely if we can do the maintenance for the pool every 3 to 4 days. My husband said ok no problem since it wasn’t too much to do. We took care of that, but after 4-5 days we noticed that the water is becoming green and we called the owner to come and do something about that. Also the fridge wasn’t working properly and the food got spoiled over the night.. At night the heat that was in the rooms was unbearable. We had 2 cooling fans upstairs but because of the hot weather those were useless..
In the email that we received about the property it wasn’t specified the check out time. The owner asked us to leave the house at 10:00 am. We asked him nicely if it’s possible to check out at 12:00 since our flight was in the evening and our bus was around 2:00 o’clock. He was ok with that. The next morning we cleaned the house nicely, we packed everything and at 12:00 o’clock when the owner came to check the house, our nightmare started.
He came very angry, he was shaking and almost yelling at us why our luggage is still in the house when it supposed to be at the gate. He started counting the plates and the cups (like an inventory) and then he looked in the kitchen cabinets and he started yelling at us who give you permission to drink my tea and coffee. That was true we used his coffee because we thought that it was a welcome gift for us. Everywhere we traveled the coffee and the tea was there as a welcome gift. He checked the rest of the house everything else was ok and then he started complaining that the pool water got green because of us, accusing us of being dirty.
We are a civilised family, my husband is an Anesthesiologist and I am a hairstylist and a salon owner, Canadian’s living in Belgium. We traveled a lot and this was first time when we were treated this way.
We ended up paying him extra money for the coffee and we got kicked out of his property like some kind of beggars.
I don’t recommend this place unless you’re willing to spend your vacation taking care of the swimming pool and everything else around the house. And please make sure that you don’t touch any coffee or tea lying around since those are not welcome gifts.

Since I am a fair person i will list the good the bad and UGLY staying at this place:

The good:
- The place is nice and clean, newly renovated
- Has a swimming pool that helped during this period of high tempratures
- At the start, the owner seemed nice and civil.. once again, at the start!!
- has internet

The bad:
- Its not a walking distance from any beach, you need a car
- does not have air conditioner which made it impossible to sleep at night in this heat
- the price is steep, just for having a swimming pool, but not worth it if you go on vacation and try to get a good night’s rest in temperatures of over 35 degrees at night.
- Apparently, and as the owner thinks that this is not a hotel service and you have to clean the pool yourself.
- There is no garbage collection in the area, and again, since the owner thinks this is not a hotel service, we had to pick up our own garbage and put it in my nice clean car to drive it to the only garbage bin about 1km awy and through it away myself.
- you basically can not touch anything in the house that belongs to him, which should not be there in the first place.
- Yes as I mentioned previously the internet is included, but it’s provided by Satelite and not LAN, which made it impossible sometimes to load a video on apps like Facebook, so don’t keep your hopes up if you have some work to do during your vacation.

The UGLY:
- The swimming pool seems to be a big issue for the owner, during our vacation and trying to be nice and civil, the owner mentioned that the pool needs to be cleaned with a robot he has and adding chlorine pills every 3-4 days, I have done more than that and did the cleaning myself every 2 days, putting the robot twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, still this was not enough for him, I told him about it on the last 3 days and he came with special solutions which he should have done himself earlier and still ended up blaming us for making the pool “dirty”
- on checkout day, he expect you to be out at 10 am, according to a contract that does not exist, there was no mention of check out time, I did however ask him the night before that if it is possible to check out at 12 and he had no problem with that.
- on check out day, being civilised, we did not want to leave the house unorganised, so we cleaned all rooms, I personally sweeped the entire house and the front porch, so the house was left clean, which we should not have done since cleaning was included in the steep amount we paid.
- the owner comes acting very stressed out and was very rude, at 12 pm while waiting for our ride to takes us to Barcelona, he basically kicked us out, did not have the decency to let us wait on the front porch, he asked us to pick up our last “ garbage bag” and leave the premesis and started the sprinklers in the garden before we even left, which was all over my family and luggage, so we had to rush out. I had told him this is not how to conduct business with guests in this type hospitality service since we go there’s every year and were planning to rent there again next year and his reply was “ may be this a good idea”

In conclusion,
Just to mention, which is not really relevant, I am a Canadian doctor, who knows how to be civilised and clean and respect other people’s property.
This js not a place that I would ever go back to again, just for the treatment of an inexperienced owner who just bought the house and renovated it to make money.
Very uncevalised treatment of guests on check-out day, literarily kicking us out and seemed so stressed out because he had other guests coming the next day.
I will be filing an official complaint with the city of L’ ampulla tonight.
Just not worth the money 😡
