Camping Playa Arenillas

First visited this campsite in 1985. I was 15. I've been back several times since. Fantastic campsite. Clean and beautifully laid out. 24/7 onsite security. Friendly staff, Talking of the staff. The bar owner has been serving beers since my first visit in 85.
Always look forward to revisiting.

Amazing little campsite. Great toilets and showers, small shop, restaurant and bar. Staff are very helpful. Next to a fab beach where you can walk across the bay to the next village when the tide goes out. Another bar and restaurant next to the beach too. Had a great few nights here. Definitely a good stop over spot. One night is not enough.

Perfect campsite for a short stay!
Was the first stop on our backpacking holiday, and we stayed for 4 nights, super affordable and everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Arrived on the bus from Santander via Laredo which was very easy, would recommend if you’re coming from the ferry.
No local shops in Islares, so we had to get the bus into Castro-Urdiales which was also a very easy and cheap journey to make.
Most of all amaaazing location, right on the beach, brilliant views and decent surf hire.
Met all our expectations, not sure why so many negative reviews, it’s a perfect campsite if you want somewhere super scenic, very cheap, and a bit rural!

I was here with a tent for a night. The woman on the reception was very kind. It is open between 9 and 22 o'clock. There is enough space. It is very quiet and beautiful. There are showers and toilets - very clean. The restaurant offers lunch (between 13 and 16 o'clock) and dinner (after 20 o'clock) and there is a small supermarket with everything important. The beach is 3 walking minutes away, very beautiful and on the way is also a surf rental. 🏄‍♂

Great camping, suprisingly even for people who have no camping gear. Because of the presence of the mountains and a beach nearby I felt like this place was umami.
Highly recommend.

Great Site
We stayed here mid July . Its only a small little site with no pool but its only a step across the road to a great tidal beach. When the tide is out you can great a good walk into the next village . There is a great restaurant which serves great local food. The toilets are old but they are clean. It was very busy in July and we did find we had to pick our times for showers and the young teenagers tended to hog the bathrooms in the evenings.
Very handy spot for touring around . We will be back.

A very nice medium sized campsitel run by very pleasant owners. The facilities have recently been upgraded to a high standard. The bar is good for breakfast. The site is a good Pilgrim stop with suitable accommodation. There is a beautiful bay immediately outside the site for swimming or surfing. There are three restaurants around including the site restaurant which caters for all different tastes. There is a small shop. The bus stop outside the site serves the very nice town of Castro Urdiales with links to Bilbao.

Super service, unbeliveble view from the pool and restaurant. Super nice staff. Clean and well organized. Nice nature tracks for hiking

Reception in fluent English. Overall nice camping site and new, well maintained shower block. Good restaurant right next door.

Very good campsite, right by the lovely beach, exceptionally clean, well maintained grass, football field on the grounds, lots of children, helpful staff, mostly quiet after 10 p.m., very environmentally friendly.

Lovely campsite between mountains and the sea. 2 minutes walk to a beautiful swimming spot.

Nice camping close to the beach. All facilities are modern and clean. Shop on site as well as a bar. Other bars and restaurants close by
