Posada San Pelayo

A lovely rural retreat nestled in the Picos Mountains.
The sound of cow bells is your alarm clock, should you need one.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Love the "honesty bar" .. basic choices, but a great idea.
Parking is ample and some covered parking is available.
You do need some transport here, unless you are a very fit and enthusiastic walker.
Some great places to visit within a 20 min drive.. do have a drive both up and down the road and around the location.
A great cafe/bar just 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Try the menu of the day.. always great value, (similarly in most Spanish and Portuguese cafes.. 3 course AND a bottle of wine for usually under €20 each! Wow!).

This was a beautiful find. Nested in the mountains and away from the road, this posada is all that you imagine the Spanish countryside to be. The pool overlooks the mountain peeks and the water is warm and inviting. The rooms curated and the staff warm and helpful. It was very clean and comfortable.

A beautiful bed and breakfast in the heart of the Picos de Europa park. Very good for accessing the hikes. The hotel is clean, the beds are super comfortable, and the garden is beautiful (note the impressive bonsai collection and apple trees). They also have a friendly golden retriever called Pongo who keeps the vibe relaxed.

I would give it 10 starts if I could! We had the most amazing time in the inn, the lovely owners welcomed us and made us feel like home. The breakfast was abundant and they provided vegetable milk as I requested :) it also included seasonal fruits from their garden!
I absolutely recommend this place if you are planning to stay around this area.

An outstanding place to stay. We had a room with a balcony which had a view of the snow-covered peaks. Very quiet and peaceful: the only sounds were the bells of sheep grazing on the hillside, running water in a stream and some bird life. There is an attractive swimming pool, but with an air temperature of less than 10*C we decided against it!
The place dose not look like a typical hotel: it is more like visiting a wealthy friend in their home, with comfortable armchairs and settees and lots of books to read in a number of languages. The gardens are maintained meticulously with beautiful flowers and even bonsai trees on the fenceposts.
Breakfast was excellent, comprising cereals, toast, and mini pancakes and generous servings of coffee.
The place was immaculate, with comfortable bed, writing desk, wifi, and the owners are courteous and helpful. There were no downsides, and we will definitely be back!

Posada San Pelayo is truly the best place to stay in Parc Picos de Europa. You might even visit Parc Picos for it! The family who owns the posada is very kind and helpful. We enjoyed the amazing view from our balcony, the well kept garden and swimming pool. Perfectly located near vibrant Potes and many amazing hiking trails. Oh… and did I already mention the delicious breakfast with local pastries? This is the place you want to stay for a couple of days to enjoy nature and Spanish hospitality.

The hotel is very charming. It is surrounded by nature and throughout the day you can hear birds sing and the passage of the waters of a river. The rooms super clean and well maintenance. In short, spectacular value for money.

Fantastic!! An immaculate and high quality guesthouse with authentic decor inside and extremely well kept grounds outside. The guest house is set in a peacefull 5 house village surrounded by mountains and beautiful scenery the Rio Deva is just meters from the property and the soundtrack of the river and wildlife is just amazing, even more so if your lucky enough to experience a thunder and lightning storm as I did. The guest house is family run by a very warm and friendly husband and wife who endeavour to make your stay a comfortable one. I must also mention bongo the dog who is the friendliest most well behaved dog, and would escort me on walks around the area or to the nearby campground restraunt and then make his own way home. All in all my stay at the Posada el Pelayo was a fantastic experience and one I will never forget.

A real find. Beautiful gardens in a tranquil setting. A good choice if visiting Picos fuente de region. Safe parking at rear.

I have been here for a week on my motorcycle and I can honestly say that I have never been on better roads.... Amazing.

Superbe hôtel très bien entretenu dans un site exceptionnel. Accueil chaleureux, petit déjeuner en terrasse, piscine pour l'après randonnée. Que du bonheur. Le seul tout petit bémol serait sur l'insonorisation des chambres, mais c'est pour chipoter.

Fin de semana increíble, en un entorno alucinante!!! La posada es preciosa, decorada con muchísimo gusto. Escogimos una habitación con balcón y, madre mía, preciosa, se veía la piscina y, bueno el entorno era una maravilla, rodeado por los siempre majestuosos Picos de Europa. Los desayunos son muy buenos , en especial los frisuelos, que delicia!! Los dueños son muy amables y atentos. Gracias por todo Lourdes, volveremos, seguro!!

Lugar increíble con unas vistas inmejorables a los picos de europa. Es un sitio donde puedes desconectar y disfrutar de la tranquilidad del entorno. Destacar la amabilidad y la atención de los dueños porque te hacen sentir como en casa y siempre te están recomendado algún sitio que visitar. Una posada preciosa que esta cuidada hasta el ultimo detalle. Mi pareja y yo repetiremos seguro, recomendable 100%.

Hemos estado cuatro días en la Posada San Pelayo y han sido estupendos.
Desde la amabilidad de los dueños que te ayudan y asesoran para programarte los dias....hasta como tienen decorada y limpia la posada.No falta detalle en ningún sitio todo decorado con mucho gusto, las habitaciones grandes y con unas vistas expectaculares a Picos.
Tienen una piscina que pudimos disfrutar de ella y un jardín que no falta tampoco detalle.
