Matices de Carla Álvarez

By coincidence I made a reservation here last Saturday. From the reservation to the food and service, everything was top. Started with an appetizer (picture added), in which we took the recommendation of the host, I very much liked it, even though I normally do not like mussels. Followed by the main course (chosen because of the picture of another review, the rice dish like paella) with a delicious nature wine recommended again by the host and finished with a lime based dessert. With a little effort, a definite recommendation for English tourists too.

An absolute place you should not miss. This is upscale food and a little more expensive than other places. We love it here and the food is some of the best in Galicia.

Today we had a spectacular lunch with a group from Colorado, USA. They loved the food, wines, and excellent service by the team of Matices by Carla Alvarez, a great job! I will be back very soon! The Octopus cornbread empanada and seafood rice were so delicious, a highlight of our foodie experience in Vigo. I highly recommended #matices

When we talk about a Michelin Star type of restaurant, we need to talk about this magnificent place, wow! What a restaurant!

The quality, taste, freshness, service and products are combined with the magic touch of Carla, she is the genius behind this project, combining years of experience all over the world, from Lima, USA, Dubai… mixing the top products from Galicia ría and it’s land… the result is a journey of discoveries…
The wine list is amazing! the wine selection from Ivan (passionate sommelier) completing the wonderful sensations in food pairing… unique wines, almost imposible to find in the stores…
My advise: “… just make an appointment asap, let them guide you through a magical moment…”

First time back to Vigo since last September. Matices is a warm hug in the city - amazing menu and flavors that are perfectly paired. Glad we returned - fair price for the great quality, service, and fresh food! Can't wait to return and try more from their menu.

Wow!!!! Beautiful spot next to the waterfront ! Extremely friendly staff and exquisite wine recommended by their sommelier! We requested an octopus dish with potato and they cooked it exactly as requested. And dessert was amazing. Our server was so amazing. Spent time with us trying out his English and French ! He was the best ! Thank you for a wonderful dining experience ! 10/10!!

Amazing restaurant in Moaña, a small touristic town near Vigo, in Galizia (Spain).
Here you find passion for cooking, high quality local products enhanced by an international touch and dishes which are worth a Michelin star.
Dining here is a great experience, seasoned by the passion and ability of the chef Carla Álvarez and by the accurate service and deep wine knowledge of the maitre Ivan.
The quality/price rate is excellent.

Sin lugar a dudas el mejor restaurante de los últimos que he visitado, desde el momento de llegada hasta la despedida un trato de 10 ( cercano a la par de elegante y correcto). La comida con cierta elaboración pero sin llegar a ser demasiado “cargante” y de una calidad y sabor espectacular. Sin duda más que merecida su nota en Google. Volveré

Una experiencia increíble, cuando no solo son profesionales sino también amantes de la cocina y la hostelería se nota. Nunca me sentí tan bien recibido y arropado en un restaurante, con un acompañamiento constante,cercano pero muy profesional. La comida tiene una elaboración y cuidado increíble, respetando ingredientes y recetas tradicionales, pero con jugándolo todo con matices modernos.

Además muy destacable la bodega y el buen conocimiento sumiller que tienen y del que vale la pena fiarse.

Sin duda, la mejor experiencia gastronómica de Vigo (y probablemente más allá) día de hoy.

Podemos decir que es un restaurante diferente.
El producto de calidad tratado con cariño y profesión y una cocina llena de "matices" que junto al servcio especialmente atento conforman una experiencia gastronómica de primer orden.
Lugar sin duda recomendable para salir de lo habitual y disfrutar alrededor de una mesa.

Impresionante de principio a fin. Imperdible su plato estrella basado en los mejillones, llamado Batea. Sólo con este plato ya se puede apreciar la creatividad y el buen hacer de la chef, una explosión de sabor y sensaciones que te transportan a la ría. Los fideos con chocos y volandeiras y los postres, igualmente fuera de serie. Mención especial para Iván que, con un par de simples indicaciones, eligió para nosotros un vino que nos encantó. Además de que tanto él como Carla, la chef, y otro chico que nos atendió ofrecen un trato profesional y tremendamente cercano y agradable, sin ser agobiante. Te sientes como en casa, pero comiendo en un restaurante de alta cocina. El precio está en consonancia con lo que se recibe, calidad y creatividad absolutas. Sin duda, repetiremos.

Fuimos a comer hace poco y la experiencia fue increíble. Matices es un restaurante donde sin duda te dejas llevar y acabas sorprendido. Los platos están deliciosos, con productos de primera calidad y con sabores únicos, Carla es una chef espectacular. El vino también estuvo impresionante, Iván es un sommelier de 10, sus recomendaciones siempre son un acierto, dejaros guiar siempre por él!

El local está ubicado en una muy buena zona de Vigo, al lado del mar. El ambiente y la atención del personal es inmejorable y el restaurante es muy elegante con una pincelada urbana que le da el toque. Sin duda lo recomiendo 100%, si vais a Vigo es parada obligatoria!

Una experiencia riquísima! Tanto Carla como Iván estuvieron súper atentos a que todo estuviera perfecto. Éramos 4 y al ser nuestra primera vez nos dejamos aconsejar por Iván. Nos puso la batea de mejillones, pulpo, atún y fideos con choco y volandeiras. Estaba todo muy rico y muy bien hecho. También nos aconsejó sobre el vino y acertó. Los postres también estaban exquisitos.
También tiene menú degustación totalmente adaptable tanto a alergias como a preferencias alimentarias.
Un 10!

PARA MI FUE UNA GRAN EXPERIENCIA Y LA COMIDA INCREIBLE, ESPECTACULAR!! MUY MUY MUY TOP LA ATENCION Y LA COMIDA MUY RECOMENDABLE EL NOMBRE DEL LOCAL LE HACE HONOR. LOS MATICES EN LA COMIDA SON UNICOS!!

Un espectaculo puro. Tanto comida como, en nuestro caso vinos, que maravilla!! Chuleton de rubia gallega con 70 dias de maduración de una calidad espectacular!! La presa iberica, degustada por mi mujer, espectacular la mezcla de sabores. Repetiremos sin ningun tipo de duda.

Me parece que las palabras se quedan cortas para describir este lugar. La ubicación es fantástica, frente al puerto y el club náutico. El restaurante es muy chulo, una mezcla entre clásico y urbano, de estilo industrial. Desde que llegué, el equipo me trató estupendamente, me dejé asesorar tanto en la comida como en los vinos y me hicieron un menú de gustación con maridaje. Espectacular.

No puedo describir lo bueno que estaba todo y lo bien elaborado.

Pero las fotos hablan por sí mismas. Un lugar que recomiendo apto para todo el mundo y decir qué ya tienen por mi parte algo más que un cliente.
