Bodega Monastrell

Alfonso (the owner) takes the tour however he only speaks very little English. His partner Alejandro takes the tour with him and speaks good English.

I emailed to ask a question and Alejandro responded very quickly and got us booked on a tour for 6€ each.

We were asked to arrive promptly so we got there early, the place would be quite difficult to find without a Sat Nav as it feels like you're going to the middle of nowhere but Google got it spot on.

The building looks like it could be an abandoned warehouse but someone greeted us outside and started the tour in the vineyards where they spoke passionately about their philosophy. We went inside to finish the tour and to taste wines with cheese and biscuits. The wines were really good and the way they showed to taste and smell was very interesting.

I wasn't sure what to expect as thought a tour could be a little boring but it wasn't at all especially as the people were fun, friendly and welcoming.

At the end you have the opportunity to buy some wine with either cash or card.

It was really amazing, we had a private tour in English and the whole territory was shown just for 4€, we do advice it!

We have been on two or three tours at this Bodega and each time it has been excellent. Bodega Monastrell is Located in the beautiful unspoilt and protected area called Valle del Aceniche. Although Alfonso only speaks a little English he has always been able to get the information across with a little help from those of us who understand Spanish and can help to explain and even his son had been able to translate! His Bodega is immaculately clean and well organised and he is clearly someone who is very passionate about making wine and the entire process it involves. On each visit we starts outside where he explained about the area, the soil and each type of vine. He makes it interesting and fun. The tours have improved somewhat since his assistant has been working with him as he speaks very good English and, he is as passionate about wine as Alfonso. They make a great team and everyone who drinks wine or has an interest in wine should visit this bodega. We are blessed in Bullas to have such a professional who produces maybe the best wine in the DO of Bullas. The white ‘Salto Del Usero’ ‘Chaveo’ and ‘Almudí’ are our personal favourites but in fairness they are all great wines.

Los dueños superencantadores. Amables y muy sencillos. Fuimos a una cata de vinos y nos lo explicaron todo genial. Nos trataron como en familia y eso que fuimos un grupo de 25 personas aproximadamente. Muy buena bodega

Een warm ontvangst en interessante uitleg. De patron spreekt met kennis van zaken. Laat op voorhand wel weten indien je geen spaans spreekt, dan voorziet hij iemand die u in het Engels rondleidt.

Visita a la bodega de Alfonso y Mavi con amigos. Es una bodega pequeña, una visita muy agradable; te enseñan los viñedos y te explican todo muy bien. Te hacen partícipe de todo. Vinos ricos y cuidada elaboración de forma ecológica. Recomendable para conocer más los vinos de nuestra tierra y fomentar su desarrollo.

Trato excelente, vino ecológico elaborado con corazón

Es una bodega pequeñita pero la visita esta muy bien. Dimos un paseo por los viñedos que son super bonitos y el entorno inmejorable. La cata estuvo muy bien y los vinos muy ricos.

Estuvimos un grupo de 20 personas de Águilas y nos gustó mucho todo, tanto el trato de Mavi, como la atención de Alfonso y el buen saber de Alejandro, que nos estuvo explicando todo lo referente a sus "excelentes vinos" asi como el precioso entorno del valle El Aceniche. Lo recomiendo, pues es una gozada probar sus vinos en plena naturaleza.

Una visita muy agradable e instructiva, muy buenos vinos no sólo ecológicos, un paso más,agrosostenible . Mavi y Alfonso enoentusiatas y muy simpáticos.
