Restaurante La Ventana

Quality restaurant with a good menu and excellent service. One of the few places in Santander to make an effort for my vegetarian companion, while the fish for me was first class. Good value €50 per head for 3 courses, wine and drinks before and after.

The food and atmosphere were great. The portions were not that big though.

Enjoyed lunch on a terrace - it was tasty and with a great atmosphere.

The hotel room was not the biggest of its kind, but it was clean and furnished lovely, so it did its job very well. It's very pleasing that the hotel has a parking lot included. The restaurant can be recommended without doubts: very lovely as well, and you can feel the love for details. The waitress has been very professional and kind and you can expect very delicious food for a fair price. We would definitely come back again!!

In Santander for a couple of nights. It is a place we have been through many times, always just to board or disembark the ferry, and have always thought, while enjoying the scenic views from the ferry, it is a place we should visit properly.
And we are not disappointed! Santander is a very classy place, and has some very good restaurants. So when it came to chosing one for our 2nd night, we turned to the public ratings guide on social media, and picked Restaurant la Ventana.
I recall it as being listed as #1 of six hundred plus restaurants, but that was not the reason we chose it. What sealed the deal for us was looking at their web site, and deciding that their menu contains dishes which would suit the tastes of the 4 of us.
I made the reservation some 4 hours before the reserved time, and at first it seemd that we were not going to be able to get in, but after some pleading, our reservation was confirmed!

I am always influenced by the welcome I get when entering any establishment vying for my hard earned cash, and this was probably the most friendly, efficient and caring welcome ever experienced. We arrived 45 minutes prior to our reservation time, thinking we would find somewhere for an aperatif, so were delighted when we were shown to the garden at the rear of the restaurant. And we were not alone! Many diners were seated at the various tables,enjoying cocktails long before their reserved times, and all situated to respect social distancing.
With impecible timing we were attended to by a helpful and attentive member of staff, who took our orders. So, off to a good start.
Shown to our table, again, spaced to respect social distancing, in one of the three dining areas, all spotlessly clean, we were soon attended to by Isabel, who " walked" us through the menu, including the 'specials of the day". An extensive menu, you will find something that suits you.
We chose a smoked salmon starter for the 4 of us, marinated in a house dressing of vinaigrette and fresh tomatoes, herbs and mayonnaise. Divine!
Solomios cooked to perfection for 3 of us, and monk fish - the entire fish! - for one were the main dishes, accompanied by 2 excellent wines, one Alberino and one Ribero del Duero.
Service throughout was impressive -not overly attentive but always there when required. Eva, the other waitress who attended to us was also first rate.
We declined the offer of postres, and completed the meal with coffee.
Prices were more than reasonable for such an incredible experience - one you should consider when visiting Santander.
The restauraunt is around 13 minutes by taxi from the centre of the city.
Now we know why Restaurante La Ventana holds down #1 spot in Santander!

Very good COVID measures in place while maintaining an amazing ambience. Food is spectacular, and market fresh. Excellent fish and cheesecake a cannot miss.

Este restaurante lo conocimos mediante Instagram y fue un verdadero acierto. Elegimos el jardín o terraza para comer y fue estupendo.

El servicio impecable, con camareros bien vestidos y atentos a todos los detalles.

La comida excepcional, empezando por la ensalada y terminando por los postres. Absolutamente todo estaba buenísimo.

Sí que es cierto que el precio es un pelín elevado pero merece la pena por lo bien que se come y lo bien que se está.

Repetiríamos sin duda.

Servicio y atención impecables. Productos de altísima calidad, las almejas estaban deliciosas y el machote a la plancha para chuparse los dedos. Parking muy amplio y restaurante muy fácil de encontrar.

Muy buena atención, y mucho cuidado con tema alergias ofreciendo alternativas. Calidad excelente en todas las ocasiones en las que hemos ido. Siempre tienen a parte de la carta, recomendaciones del día que suelen ser todo un acierto.

Teníamos ganas de probar este restaurante y porfin nos hemos quitado esa espinita. Nos ha encantado todo la verdad, desde el sitio que me parece súper bonito, la atención por parte del personal y la comida... increíble, preparado con mucho mimo, calidad y sabor en cada plato. Hemos pedido dos raciones y un segundo para cada uno. La ensalada de roast beef riquísima la carne mechada nos ha encantado, los chipirones ídem tenían buen tamaño y estaban tiernos, venían con una salsa de boniato muy buena y para terminar costilla a baja temperatura y bonito a la plancha que estaba brutal. Sin lugar a dudas restaurante para repetir y probar cosas diferentes ya que nos quedamos con las ganas. Nos ha encantado.

Comida en el restaurante La Ventana en Santander, platos exquisitos y atención excelente, hemos pedido 1/2 de rabas, tartar de pato, rapito a la plancha, tataki de venado, torrija, café, agua fría y cava Torelló brut Nature, y he cogido unos caracoles para comer mañana que tiene muy buena pinta, se adjunta foto de la carta, muchas gracias un placer

Los más importante que tienen carta sin gluten y controlan bien.
