Fantastic little archaeological museum. Being from the UK, it was only €1.50 each and free for EU citizens. Early on a Saturday in July, it was almost empty. Beautiful artefact’s beautifully displayed. Many of the labels are in Spanish and English. Gives a real taste of this fascinating part of Spain. They found a Roman amphitheater when it was being built, which you can visit int he basement, and your ticket also gives you access to the Palacio next door with a wonderful courtyard. The whole visit took 1-1.5 hours. Highly recommended.

Great, informative museum that really helped us better understand how Cordoba evolved over the centuries. I found the maps showing the evolution of towns and streets very helpful. The excavation site at the basement level was the highlight. And the entry price of €1.50 was unbelievably cheap for the quality. Please note the ticket office only accepts cash and don't take credit card payments for entry.

It takes max 1 hour for visiting. You can speak English with the lady at the box office. Thursdays are free (maybe other reason) . It's exciting to see ancient ruins up close. There is an ancient theater in the basement

Read amazing reviews and our host also recommended that we visit this museum. We just got back from visiting the Mosque-cathedral and didn't intend to go inside as we might not have enough time.

I believe the main museum was closed temporarily at the time we visit (not sure if it still is), but we were warmly invited to go in and walk around the courtyard for free.

Really excellent! Very warm welcome from staff and lots of helpful signage in English. Lovely garden outside included in the visit EU members free.
Cafe at the entrance was OK for a sit-down and a drink (privately operated).

Super nice little museum that shows you the history of Córdoba in a simple and entertaining way. There is also a very pleasant square where you can enjoy a coffee and relax for a bit.

Definitely worth a visit. Free for European citizens, €1.5 if not. It explains the history of Córdoba from paleolithic to early Middle Ages with no risk of information overload. Bonus: Roman theatre ruins in the basement. The piazza in from of the museum is very pretty.

Great museum with an easy to follow history of Cordoba. Fascinating collection of artifacts. What a history of habitation this place has. And they continue to uncover more and more locations throughout the city and region.

Spend an afternoon wandering this little gem of a museum. It ended up not costing to get in even though I think it was only a couple of euro stated on the website.
Most of the exhibits had English translation.
Roman ruins was presented in an excellent manner.
Worth a visit!

Well, this was a surprise! Have seen lots of Archaeological Museums. This one was small (so you weren't overwhelmed by endless broken bits of pottery and bronze age bits). But it was curated and presented in an informative, varied way. Example: they used 3D printers to produce copies of objects, so you could have a tactile experience in handling them. We liked how they also had thematic displays as well as the chronological narratives you normally find. Integrating the ruins of the Roman Theatre in the basement, was the icing on the cake. The use of computer generated explanations to bring the Theatre to life is the first we've seen. This museum punches far above its weight. Entrance was free but normally is only €1.50 or so, anyway. See it when you visit Cordoba.

This is a great museum! This museum goes through an in-depth explanation of the history of Cordoba. They have thousands of authentic historic pieces, almost all from Cordoba. More than that, they even have subterranean ruins of an ancient Roman theater that you can walk around. And to top it all off, it’s free!

MUST SEE. Well conceptualized and executed; for a tiny southern town, truly admirable work in this museum. Basement walkways through roman ruins, with noteworthy and striking video tutorials.

This very nice archaeological museum in Cordova has lots of statues taken from Roman ruins and Muslim palaces. You can also find here a recreation of the Roman Temple of which ruins you might have seen earlier while walking the city. There are also good examples of Roman mosaics and Islamic artwork. The building that houses the museum is also very pretty and you should take pictures in the courtyard. The maps and the paintings that you find throughout the museum are worth seeing. Save this museum towards the tail end of your visit in Cordova so that you can skip it in case other places demand more of your attention.

We stopped through for an hour the morning we had to leave and it was just about right. Lots of great artifacts and history in great condition in a very nice museum. The old Roman theatre it was built on is very cool to see inside. Highly recommend for something that lots may overlook in the area.

Really good Museum! And on Wednesdays the entrance is free. You learn a lot about the history of Cordoba and how it was in Roman times, how was life inside the houses, artifacts and even some ruins found in excavation. It worth the visit, specially considering that Cordoba is pretty small

Free entry for EU citizens. A small collection but a very interesting selection of pieces. Accompanying descriptions are also interesting. Foundations of a massive roman amfiteatar underneath.

Archeological museum of Cordoba, Spain 🇪🇸 showcases collections from all of its historical eras and particularly has a separate section of Al-Andulus, where amazing artifacts from centuries of muslim rule have been displayed. The collection include coins, flasks, jewellery, marblestones, gravestones, oil lamps & pieces of marble from Mezquita with names of workmen engraved on them from that time.
Amazing experience!!

A small but excellent museum with well displayed artefacts and good signage. Make sure you look at the excavated ruins of the theatre in the basement, band the courtyard next door through that fabulous médiéval gate. And check out the fabulous stone staircase railing in the museum.
