The review is for the food -
Burgers 11.50€ and pulpos 17€ are amazing.
The female host speaks and understands good English but the male is not friendly.
A good diversion after Misa and Monastery visit on lazy Sunday.

This is a great albergue situated at the top of a hill, right on the Camino. There are only about 4 bunk beds in the dormitory rooms, so it is not crowded at all. They also have private rooms.

There is a good restaurant on the premises. The owners will also wash and dry your clothes for you.

I really enjoyed our stay in Laguna at Albergue La Escuela. The facility was clean and well kept. We had a group of 4 and were able to get a semi-private 4 bed room. The pilgrim menu was very good and service was as well. Our decision to stop short of O Cebreiro was a wise one and La Escuela made us feel good about that.

Was passing by, already a little tired from the 20 km, They boosted my energy with a good beer and the sounds of Galicia. the owners are cordial with a smile on their faces.

There are the places you can sit and enjoy the coffee and cheese with honey, seeing the scenery of mountain covered by snow.

Very nice albergue before O Cebreiro. Consider to stay here as it is not over crowded. Cozy garden area, great food and nice people.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. After the long trek up through the gorgeous valley we were greeted warmly by a kind staff that got us checked in quickly. The showers were clean with ample hot water and good water pressure. The hand washing area was great with 2 stinks and there was more than enough clothesline for drying clothes. The dorm room was a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. The menu del dia was available from 1 pm until 8 pm. The owner was so helpful to weary pilgrims arriving late due to heavy showers moving through. The views down into the valley were spectacular before thunderstorms moved in. Ẁe would definitely stay here again!.

This place is fabulous! It is one of my favorite albergues from the Camino Frances. It sits in the middle of the mountains in a tiny village called La Laguna de Castilla. The food at the restaurant is delicious. The lentil soup was especially tasty. The service is very friendly and welcoming. The whole place is very clean, including the bathrooms. The beds are comfortable and not too crowded. I highly recommend staying here!

Went a year ago and it was a good stay before crossing the border into Galicia. Their pilgrim menu was good and they had the best caldo gallego I’ve had on the journey (having had it two more times on the way to Santiago). It was very wholesome and chunky compared to the ones I had further along the route.

You must stop here if you are on the Camino. These people were so nice when we asked just for toast to put the goat cheese we already had. They spontaneously brought over some tapas for us as well. THEN we left our phone under a plate with our credit cards and they drove to where we were on the Camino to catch us and delivered our phone to us. Incredible gesture!! Highly recommended place. The coffee was great also. Fantastic stop before making the climb to O Cebreiro

Very nice and friendly host family, having the best food (Albergue) tasteful and delicious.
And all full in the next village, luckily we stopped by this place (we didn't know anything about everything booked in the next village), which was our plan for the night stop.
Buen Camino

Very kind staff. The Accommodation is clean and comfortable and the pilgrim menu is generous. They washed and dried our clothes for a small fee. All in all, it’s a great option if you’re walking from Villafranca and you’ve enough climbing done for the day. Best albergue on the Camino so far

Did not stay here but was a much needed rest stop on our way up the mountain. Nothing like a good raddler to keep you moving. A much needed and appreciated rest stop.

Amazing landscape, great new facilities, cosy room, kind and funny stuff, great kitchen with nice pilgrims menu. Great choice if you decide to stay here before reaching O Cebreiro peak.

Amazing Pilgrim menu for 10€. It has a great private room at the hostel, one of the better ones so far along the Camino. Well worth the 38€ after the mother of all stages from Villafranca del Berizo. Worth the stop if you can't find a private room in O'Cebreiro.

Magical, for relaxing, eating, soaking up the atmosphere of one of the best bar/restaurants in Galicia, and the camino Santiago.
