We absolutely adore La Mar Chica!
We've dined here countless times and it never fails to impress us. The menu is consistently exciting, and the food is not only delicious but also artfully presented. The culinary experience and ambiance are truly on par with Michelin standards, and thankfully, the prices are quite reasonable too. The hosts are incredibly friendly, and the service is always top-notch.
We wholeheartedly recommend La Mar Chica and eagerly look forward to returning time and time again :-)

If we could give this restaurant 8 stars we would! Incredible menu and staff. The wine pairings are exceptionally well thought through and, in the most part, local.

Benalmadena pueblo is just a fabulous setting and this restaurant fits in perfectly. The chef and staff are so nice and personable.

Quite simply one of the best restaurants in the area. Chef Dennis has a unique skill in creating imaginatively presented high quality dishes. The service is always warm and friendly. We have never been disappointed. It is also small and therefore has an intimacy that allows easy conversation. It deserves Michelin recognition.

The food was delicious. Absolutely amazing! We had a table of 6. The wine pairing is worth adding on. Highly recommend. We will be back. The service was top notch and the staff really lovely and friendly.

Beautiful place, amazing food, great service. We had the 7 course menu (in a way it’s 8 as you get a greeting from the kitchen as a starter), and each course was great and different. Especially we loved the asparagus soup, the scallop and the sweet dessert. Also warm recommendation to enjoy the mango spritzer with home made rum. The only minus is that we had to pour our own water, they wouldn’t automatically fill our glasses from the bottle that was on the table, which we perhaps would have expected in a restaurant of this level :) but this is a very minor thing as everything else was just perfect. They also helped us get a local taxi as Uber/Bolt doesn’t really drive all the way to the front of the restaurant, you will need to go to the main road a block away if you want to use those. The area is pretty to walk around and there’s a cute fountain on Plaza de España. Loved it, totally deserves all the 5 stars! Thank you!

I´ve been here a few times and each time it is absolutely excellent. Dennis is a remarkable & innovative chef. His dishes are totally delicious and also prepared & served beautifully. Each course, from the amuse bouche through to cheese courses & desserts are remarkable. Their wine list is thoughtfully curated by Kiki and I have never been anything other than delighted with her recommendations. The ambiance is lovely and service impeccable. Treat yourself. You wont be disappointed. Book well in advance. See you there.

I highly recommend this restaurant! It's a terrific combination of flavors, the artfully selected ingredients bring out every product in the dish. Cozy atmosphere and perfect attentive service! I love such places where it is warm and delicious!

4-April-2024 Our first date night in 11 months since the birth of our daughter, and all I can say is PERFECTION 🤩 Dennis & Kikki have created the most outstanding experience from the minute you walk through the door to your last bite. Beyond remarkable!

14-June-2023 The most exceptional and exquisite menu - my tastebuds are still salivating 24hrs later! The entire meal was stand out and the entire meal was the pièce de résistance. In addition, the team, restaurant and ambiance add to make it a night you’ll never forget and leave you planning your return. Highly recommend and cannot wait for my next reservation!

In the middle of Benalmádena Pueblo we found a small but excellent restaurant!
Dutch chef-kok Dennis and his Danish wife Kiki runs restaurant La Mar Chica.

If you like a big steak with chips this is nothing for you,
but if you like star quality dishes this is the place!

Last night we treated ourselves on a 6 course menu with a wine paring 🍷

It was excellent 👌👌👌

The art of food.
It's not just a food. This is a gastronomic journey. Every time I am surprised by new dishes and tastes. Chef Dennis is undoubtedly talented and I am happy that I have the opportunity to spend the evening in his cozy restaurant.

This is an outstanding restaurant worthy of Michelin recognition. The food was innovative and delicious. Service was flawless. You have the choice of ordering 4 to 7 courses along with wine pairings. They even offer a « driver’s «  pairing. Truly, a wonderful experience at a reasonable price. I will definitely go back when I am next in Malaga region.

The restaurant run by Dennis, Kikki and their smiley team is the place to have an unforgettable culinary experience. The dishes served by Dennis are beyond food, they are form of art. Each dish was a surprising combination of flavours, structures and colours. All of them served with perfectly maching wines, pumping up the sensations on palate. The overall experience was wrapped up with the vivid description of the served food and wines and the ambience of the restaurant, worked to every detail to satisfy even the most demanding guests. My only concer is as when may I reapeat it.

Without doubt the best restaurant I’ve ever been in my life. I don’t know how the chef gets so much flavour into his food. We had the 7 course taster menu and every course was fantastic. Would come back to Spain just to go to this restaurant, and we will be. Waitresses attentive and friendly and happy to chat can’t recommend enough. Thank you

Had a wonderful gastronomic experience at this cosy restaurant. A really interesting 7-dishes menu with flavours and textures I haven’t ate before. Absolutely worth the price. Will for sure come back soon!

Hot plates, hot food, beautiful presentation, flavour combinations spot on, reasonable prices.

Lovely couple running the restaurant. Everything cooked with passion and great attention to detail. Highest quality ingredients.

Wine and water glasses were filled up as soon as they were half full or empty. Service was perfect and always there when needed.

Very attentive and accommodating towards allergies/intolerances and if vegetarian/pescatarian. Everyone could enjoy the evening to its fullest.

Highly recommend taking the seven course menu to experience the full palette of chef Dennis’ kitchen magic.
