Playacálida Hotel

Really lovely hotel, that had an amazing infinity pool that no photo can give justice to. The boys loved the tube slides and lazy river. The food was great and the service was outstanding. So much to do, and two beautiful beaches either side too. Never had a problem getting a sunbed no matter what time of day. Even has a little gift shop for those must have gifts! Perfect! 💃🌴🌞

We had amazing 7 days at this hotel end of July. Beautiful place, with beautiful views. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Drinks and food was great! Beach is always busy with locals, but the sea is clean and warm. Not much to do in the local town, but there is a huge waterside park for kids.
La Bonita restaurant on the beach is amazing - very generous portions and very tasty, Pina colada cocktail is the best!
Overall, great experience and recommend this place for a holiday.

Wonderful huge hotel near the sea with many pools, spa, gym and other services required. The rooms are very big, as well as the shower rooms with 2 showers. The food is great. I loved everything. The only thing I would prefer to add, it's a better wifi in the rooms to be able to work, when it is needed. Thanks for a great stay!

Imitating the unique location of the alhambra , this hotel will make you travel in time you to medieval Spain occupied by yhe Muslims, yhe hotel is decorated as the caliphate of Granada used to be. This hotel is unique. Just come and see it.

Wow what a brilliant stay. The staff are absolutely amazing. They work tirelessly through the day to make sure you feel special. Food is really nice and I didn't have the same food once during the week I stayed. Animation team are brilliant with the kids and they are a credit to the hotel. Lifefuards are all really friendly and professional and you feel safe with your kids being in the pool as they are constantly monitering the pools. Amazing beaches a short walk away and some lovely resturants too if you fancy eating out sometime. Location is beautiful with a wonderful sea view from the balcony. Will definitely be returning.

Special thanks to the waitress Maribel who was so lovely to our daughter and made her feel special every day. Her energy and kindness are a credit to the hotel.

Amazing hotel but very big. I changed my room to a garden room, straight out to the pool.
It's early in the season so not crowded.
Fabulous pools but not heated 🥶
My only criticism is it's quite far from the main town - an hour's walk!

Highly recommend this hotel! We really enjoy our fisrt family all inclusive holidays🥰 lovely personal from room cleaners to the bars, to the restaurant, to the reception, around swimming pools, personal was really friendly and thank you them all for feeling really good and comfy. Hotel was clean, food was nice and tasty, every day was some funny entertainment. Kids really enjoy river pool with slides 👍 Beach was just 9-12min walk from the hotel so very good. When we would like to see town Almuñecar receptionist call to us taxi and it was 5-7min ride for 9,55EUR, perfect. This hotel totally deserves his ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars. Thanks for everything.

As a person that worked in Hotels for 10 years...I cannot recommend more Playa Calida... is difficult to have a perfect hotel however, we should look at value offered...really impressed. As a note for the manager...1. The animation could have lasted longer, sometimes it was only 3 songs during the evening kids show. 2 No music on by the swimming pool...which was dull.

Don’t believe the negative reviews, can’t fault the place at all. Staff are great and should definitely be commended, even with the language barrier (little/none English speaking staff) & my poco attempts at Espanyol 😂. They really go out their way to accommodate you. All inclusive is a must, we’ve never been to an all inclusive of this standard, and for the price - it’s an unreal deal. You’ll get crisp, ice cream, real spirits & mixers etc. The food in the restaurant is really nice, good variety & continuously serving up fresh batches. On top of that, the breakfast/lunch/evening meal times are a lot longer than any other hotel we’ve visited before. For example evening meal 7:30-10:30pm We’ve just got back, and are wounded to be home.

Note for English guests: There are very few English guests, predominately French and Spanish (so brush up on either 😅) - as is the local town of Almuñécar, which is quiet but very pleasant. The only downside to the hotel is it’s a €10 taxi to town. However, it’s understandable that the hotel is situated further out, as the complex itself is huge. The lazy river and waterslides are great when you need a quick wake up and the infinity pool is very chilling. You’ll never struggle to get a sunbed. However, the hotel got noticeably busier over the weekend with locals (I assume), so be aware of that and grab a sunbed earlier over the weekend.
The entertainment could be a little better, seem to be tailored more towards children. However, we created our own amusement between ourselves so wasn’t as much an issue for us - but could be for others.

Overall 9/10 (Would be a 10 if Almunecar was a little more lively).

Just got back from this fab hotel. Staff helpful and friendly the pools and lazy river and slides are great. The drinks are great. Couldn't fault it. It's a bit far to walk to thd town thst would be my only Downside and the beaches very pebbly. But it's only 8 euros in a cab and the Friday Market is a must.

Although it's a very big hotel, you won't find crowded swimming pools, because there are a lots of them.
The rooms are big with great balconies to enjoy the view.
Pets allowed.
Great staff and overwhelming buffets.

Just spent a week all inclusive imperial . The choice of meals could not be faulted, all the staff were excellent. Entertainment every night
Room was very spacious with lovely balcony over looking the sea. Only down fall free wifi useless

Had a nice wee holiday. Mostly the preserve of Spanish, French and German's so vertually no one else from the UK.
Great kids club, clean and tidy, foods good, though after a week you might want to eat less!!

Very good hotel! Amazing pool with beautiful view! Very very good food in restaurants and also delicious cocktails. Service is nice and helpful.
If I come back to Almuñecar, I wish stay here!

Very nice and calm hotel (at least in September), lots of sunbeds, good food and clean rooms cleaned every day. The best was the bathroom, very large, with a large shower and additionally a bathtub

I absolutely loved our holiday here, the staff were lovely, it's was clean and the food was great, we loved all the pools and lazy river, would definitely love to go back!!
