I've been assaulted by a security agent in front of nightclub opium I went to this hospital to do a report they took care of me .
The staff was very cooperative and friendly.
It was very quick I was surprised I was happy to go out so quickly.
I would like to thank the personnel for their work ✨😁

I had to go to ’urgencies’ for an urgent medical issue because I’m not registered with a doctor here yet. Within 1 hour they took relevant samples and 3 hours later they had diagnosed me and prescribed me medication to resolve my issue. I’ve never been treated so quickly in a hospital, overall a very positive experience. Note that I speak Spanish and have an EHIC card, but I’m not sure if this has anything to do with how quickly/well I was treated.

My friend was in a bad way and they patched him up amazingly, without fuss and with the utmost care!

My biggest respects to Doctor Ouein (Ewan?) MacNeill behind the admin desk - whatever awards you give, please give him one! He took the time to check up on us, explained the detailed system of payments, and altogether struck me as an incredible man. He made a 9 hour stay feel somewhat enjoyable.. not an easy feat

Whatever complaints you read, just know that their staff really care. From the paramedics to the nurses, and (especially) the A&E manager, all acted with exceptional professionalism and care.

Two weeks ago my i had a urgent surgery in the gynecological emergency of Hospital del mar. Every person i have met in this hospital, was very empathic and extremely caring. There was always someone who was able to speak in english to me and i was extremely well cared from the moment i entered the hospital, until i left. I was all alone, i was very scared, the anaesthesia made me very nervous and emotional unstable - but the nurses of the waking up station have been real professional and human beings!
Thank you from the deepest of my heart!
Coming as a foreigner with a health issue and on top of that alone, can be really a huge thing.

I came as a tourist with European health card and had a very good experience. There was always someone to speak English, I was in and out with x-rays, diagnosis and medication within two hours, which is unheard of in many countries.

From reading the other reviews it seems this hospital is either a hit or a miss. My experience was a hit. I'm from Los Angeles. Traveling with a tour group and it seemed to me my wife had a UTI. I knew she was going to need antibiotics and the front desk of our hotel recommended this hospital. Took a cab. Got to the ER and similarly to others i was told minimum charge would be 350 Euros, but that they needed 500 Euros up front and if it was less it would be refunded back to my card. Gave them my debit card, no problem. Sent back to a bare, windowless waiting room. Waited all of about 10 minutes and were then sent back to a room with a doctor who agreed with my diagnosis (I'm not a doctor, but watch a lot of Grey's Anatomy, ER, The Good Doctor, New Amsterdam, Chicago Med etc..). He ordered a urinalysis to confirm. Test confirmed UTI. We were given a prescription. Sent to the financial office and were told that we were being charged the minimum 350 Euro and that the difference would be charged back to my card (it was). My wife and I are both decent Spanish speakers and that helped. Most of the people we dealt with spoke at least a modicum of English. The finance guy spoke perfect English (he was from Ireland). All in all the whole thing took barely an hour. MUCH better than my usual ER experiences here in SoCal. My HMO refunded my money when I got back (Kaiser).

My two kids were born here and I was very, very well treated! I also came here to the emergency room a couple of times, never had to wait more than 30 minutes and everything went well. Thank you for all your attention and care!

Hospital full of professionals. Nurses are kind and very well organized. My mother couldn't be in a better place in her very complicated condition. Thanks to the teams of ER, Semikritics, and Oncology units.

Overall I was treated pretty well by the staff when I went in with a dislocated finger. I speak Spanish but I did hear some of the nurses trying to speak English with foreigners. The check-in process was smooth, finally the wait was not too long, and the staff were nice.

On day 1 of my 5 day holiday I developed a bad infection. I registered at the reception desk and saw a triage nurse straight away. Within 3 hours I had seen the triage nurse, a doctor and received the treatment I needed. I was put on a strong antibiotic drip which made me feel better almost instantly.I was discharged with a prescription and was able to enjoy the rest of my holiday pain free. I was not sure what to expect as a holiday maker, but everyone made me feel at ease and welcome. Even the staff that didn't speak English did their best to communicate with me. Professional and caring. I owe them a big thank you.

I was admitted in emergency for an open wound on my shin. All the staff was super friendly, helpful and spoke good English. I was taken very good care of and there was no problem at all even though I am not a Spanish citizen. They turned my unfortunate injury into quite a good experience :)

I was admitted in emergency for a burst ulcer. The ambulance arrived in just a few minutes and I was back out of hospital in 4 days. All doctors spoke good English and some of the nurses also. Very friendly, kind, clean and efficient. I could not recommend the staff more.

The cardiology department saved my life, within two minutes of arrival at A&E I was being treated by a cardiologist. Fantastic team of doctors, nurses and staff. I cannot sing their praises enough!!! I very much doubt my local hospital in the U.K. would have come close to the treatment I received by the professional and friendly staff AAAAA

Writing on my husbands login 😃 I’m Rebecca, I’ve given birth twice at this hospital and I have to say first time was just ok. My latest child was this year and it was such a wonderful experience. They have updated the hospital and especially the labour ward. The doctors and nurses there are just amazing ❤. I had the most wonderful easy birth here, better than friends who paid for private. The after stay was a bit annoying because of my roommate but that was all on her lack of awareness of other people in the room. I’m moving soon but we will have one more baby and I’m soo sad it will not be here. Much much love to all the hardworking people that save lives at this hospital xx moltes gracias!!

We were visiting Barcelona when my husband had a fall and was in great pain. It was 3 am when we went to the emergency room. The doctor there was very kind and attentive. They took care of him, but thank God it was not a fracture as we suspected. We gave him our insurance papers and he said that he would try and get the payment through that. He did not charge us anything on that night even though he knew we were tourists and about to fly out the next morning back to India. We were very impressed with the care at the emergency hospital.

Unfortunately, our insurance did not cover emergency room visits and so we got a bill which we will be paying shortly.

Thank you everyone in Barcelona Hospital del Mar.

I gave birth to my daughter here in 2008. The staff were lovely. I had a private room (luck of the draw). No complaints. The night nurse spoke perfect English.

I was born in this hospital in 2008. My mom told me that she was attended right away. She always says that of the 5 kids, this hospital gave the best service. If I ever have an emergency in Barcelona, this hospital will always be my first choice.
