Really didn’t understand the contrasted ratings for Nerua. We loved the experience and the food was amazing. The chef and the team were attentive. Love being at the chef table looking at how they plated and the process how they created the dishes. Superb cleanliness and organisation. Didn’t feel rushed and didn’t feel too overly posh. It was a fabulous meal from that may not look decorated enough for standard perspectives of a Michelin-star restaurant but they were packed with flavours and interesting combinations. I love that Tomato salad and the marinated seaweed sea bass. I think some people just need to calm down, keep an open mind and let yourself to be immersed into what Nerua can offer, beautifully crafted food. Don’t expect and you will get the unexpected.

What a great night. Highly recommend the degustation menu with wine pairing. Just sit back and they take care of everything. Wonderful food and service, the best we've ever had in Spain and that is high praise indeed.

Beautiful restaurant in the perfect location. Food was well presented, creative and delicious. Great service as expected. Wine pairing was well chosen and perfectly complementing the plates.

We booked based on a friend’s recommendation and are very thankful for the suggestion.

The food was fresh and had our taste buds tingle through every dish. We ate at the Chef’s Table which added to the value of our booking.

A must visit for any foodie staying in Bilbao.

I've added pictures but they don't really described the experience of dining here. We had an amazing tasting menu with wine pairing. Each dish was prepped with beautiful ingredients, cooked with care and served friendly. The flavour experience was amazing and we'll balanced.

Super comfortable dining. Great price / value ratio. Tasting menu 85€ presents great representation of Basque traditions and modern presentation. Very tasty! Super well organized staff. Beautiful wine list with super stron representation of Spanish wines. Nothing more expected from 1 Michelin star place.

Overall we had a great experience in this mythical place. The cuisine was great and the flavours were quite interesting. The chef really enjoys coffee in his dishes, which is an interesting choice. Every single plate was nicely dressed and the wine paired perfectly. Only things to improve is avoiding a couple “errors” from the staff, who was not able to help us with the choice of the wine. We had a really great time.

Great experience of the best the basque kitchen has to offer. Every dish was well balanced, local and paired great with the wines. Waiting staff were really kind. Seeing the enthusiastic kitchen staff as well really showed the passion of basque food. Good price/quality for a Michelin star!

We recently dined at this place and we had a very positive experience. The service provided by the staff was excellent; they took the time to explain each dish with great care and were always attentive, making sure we had enough bread and wine throughout the meal.

All the dishes had an excellent flavor, with each bite offered a pleasant surprise. My three favorite dishes were the pork belly, the bonito, and the "bollos de mantequilla" (a totally different version).

The combination of attentive service and delicious food made a memorable dining experience.

Expensive but wow. The quality and the sheer amount of food is worth it. And being in a beautiful locating helps, too. I did wish the tables were smaller and there were more windows, but thats my biggest complaint. Incredible service that is very personalised. Michelin star quality food. I did the 14 plate tasting menu (see pics) and I was stuffed. The appetizers served in the kitchen set the night off beautifully, and even though I didn't do the wine pairing menu, the waiter was incredibly helpful with choosing glasses that would fit the next several courses (hey, I am a slower drinker!). Then the food.... Dessert.... The sauces....even the bread.... Was all amazing, sometimes a bit weird but it always tasted delicious. Spent 3.5 hours there, arrived when they opened and stayed till it closed. This is a fancy and elegant experience to be sure, but if you are looking for an incredible bonding and food experience, go to Nerua.

Had the opportunity to have a meal (lunch) at Nerua and was not disappointed. Their Michelin * is well deserved and the restaurant lived up to it. While you can opt for a prix-fixe menu for $80 €, we saw a lot of other interesting item to try. We therefore were allowed to choose a la carte and they split the starters. We choose from the new seasonal menu - artichoke, foie with mushrooms, hake smoked with leaks, and the individual mains were sweetbreads and the rooster fish. Needless to say, the artichokes were wonderful, the hake delightful, the foie a new taste treat with the rooster fish cooked as perfectly as any fish we have had and the sweetbreads probably amongst the best ever. The sauces were all perfectly composed and perfectly complemented each dish. For dessert, we opted for the pumpkin cream - more like a very light mousse with beer ice cream and bergamot and cookie crumble. Fantastic. With wine, the total was about the same €’s as the set menu. And by the way, the bake their own bread and it is to die for. BRAVO for a wonderful experience.

Really recommend this restaurant, I mean there is not much to add as it’s a 1 star Michelin restaurant. Service is very attentive as you would expect from a restaurant of this level. I was very positively impressed by the food, which revisit locals recipes and Ina modern key!! I had the Tomatitos, Huevo, and the sea bass fillet.

Nerua was very good. The staff took good care and we got a welcome and talk in the kitchen. Food and wines were great. One thing that was slightly less good was the end. It took a long while for them to see we needed the bill and only the kitchen staff said goodbye.

Chef Josean "King of Soups (and sauces)" and team delivers upon our high expectation!!! Spectacular food and service within a spectacular setting of The Guggenheim museum. Sommelier deserves special praise for detailed knowledge not only of the wine but stories behind the scene!

This is without a doubt the best experience I have had in dining. The service was excellent and the servings were an experience of flavor. The sauces were something I haven't experienced. I was traveling alone but they accommodated me with no problem. So much so I had to go back the next night. Again, perfection. Thank you for the experience.
