Plentzia and Gorliz are two nice little towns just next to each other. Plentzia has a nice walk along the river and great restaurants and Gorliz has this amazing beach. It's long, it's wide, it's very well taken care of and clean.
It's a public beach and it's full with families, locals and national visitors. Not too many international folks here. There are several facilities like showers and toilets, plenty of parking on the northern end (10 Euros a day) and some nice cliff formations and waterpark for kids on the northern end.
Even if not for a swim or for the beach itself it is worth to come here. Because the walk from the northern end down to Plentzia is a nice and easy thing to do. Nice views, lots of space and several restaurants, chiringuitos and ice cream vendors on the way. In the back of the beach there are many picnic areas if you need some more shade.
This beach and these two towns really make a really nice day trip.

One of the best beaches that you can ever visit

As I wade into the salty waters of the Basque Country's coastal treasure, I am immediately struck by the sheer beauty and raw power of this natural wonder. The rhythmic crashing of the waves against the rugged coastline is like a symphony, each note more impressive than the last. It's no wonder this beach has been the muse of countless artists, poets, and writers over the years.

The sand here is a perfect blend of softness and grit, giving my toes the perfect balance of pleasure and pain. The ocean breeze is invigorating, clearing my head and inspiring me to contemplate the deeper questions of life. Why am I here? What is my purpose? Is there really such a thing as too much guacamole?

But I digress. The real star of this show is the ocean itself. It's an unpredictable beast, with moods that can shift from calm and serene to tumultuous and dangerous in a matter of moments. It's a reminder that we humans are but mere mortals in the face of the awesome power of nature.

As I observe the locals frolicking in the waves, I can't help but feel a sense of envy. They seem to have an innate connection with the ocean, effortlessly navigating its waters with grace and ease. Meanwhile, I'm here struggling to avoid being swept out to sea like a discarded piece of driftwood.

But perhaps that's the point. Maybe the true beauty of this beach lies in its ability to humble us, to remind us that no matter how much we think we know, there will always be forces greater than ourselves.

We went there sort of early in the morning and it was really enjoyable! Perfect place to swim in really calm sea, have a stroll next to the water and sunbathe. By the time more people arrived we left. Recharging energy for the whole day

This is a recurrent stop when I go to the Basque Country, it’s a beautiful beach, huge and good for swimming. Also you have nature around the town is not far and a lot of different option to see and visit

Gorliz is just gorgeous, most of the time a pretty empty town, but in the summer it is the place everyone from the area goes to. Beautiful beach and hiking paths, gorgeous nature in general!

Great beach, clean toilets and good showers on the beach and boardwalk. Great for a sundowner before flying home from Bilbao

The beach is well located and it's plain, I recommend it for those who have kids too. Play swim and practice surf.

Awesome sand it's quite huge so you can find a spot to easily lay down. Water is nice as well.
