La partida de Les Soterranyes, en el término municipal de Vinaròs, es un lugar de gran valor patrimonial ya que alberga un buen número de barracas de piedra seca.

Estas construcciones son testigo de una ancestral y rudimentaria técnica de arquitectura rural, hoy prácticamente desaparecida, que consiste en la colocación de una piedra sobre otra, sin mortero de unión, hasta coronar la cubierta en forma de falsa cúpula.

No en vano, la UNESCO, en el año 2018, inscribió, como patrimonio cultural inmaterial, los conocimientos y técnicas del arte de construir en piedra seca.
