Provisional Santander Pilgrim Hostel

I talked to the bedbugs in the albergue in Santander, and they complained that in the past they had a happy life in warm and cozy Güemes albergue, fed well by Padre Ernesto, until those horrible pilgrims brought them to the city of Santander where nobody cares for them and nobody loves them.

No tengo palabras para agradecer la acogida de Victoria. Una hospitalera increíble. Albergue humilde. Cubre todas las necesidades. Cocina, ducha, cama limpia. Albergue en el corazón de Santander y tiene ese espíritu del camino. Muchas gracias!

Hicimos el camino del Norte de Irún a Santander. Nos quedamos dos noches en este albergue, ya que nuestro bus de regreso salía al día siguiente. Sin problema nos hospedaron dos noches, incluso nos dejaron cocinar. Desde el primer momento se nota la hospitalidad hacia el peregrino, los hospitaleros te atienden y te ayudan en todo lo que necesites. Nos llamo la atención que a partir de la 13:00 h. ya te reciben, así que puedes darte una ducha y tener tiempo para conocer Santander.
Nos recomendaron un sitio para comer, donde comimos
de menú, comida casera a un buen precio.
Es un sitio sin lujos, pero todo lo básico lo tienes y antetodo el buen trato, amabilidad, limpieza y cercanias a los sitios de interés en Santander.
Gracias Igor por tu atención, se nota que te gusta y disfrutas recibiendo a cada peregrino que llega.

Bon emplacement pour le pèlerin sur le chemin du nord. Cuisine petite mais fonctionnel. Tout les commerces à proximité ainsi que gare.

Se está hablando de que hay chinches y es completamente falso, en muchas ocasiones estos bichos vienen transportados en las propias mochilas que traen los peregrinos es un problema habitual en todo el camino, yo me he quedado ahí y no hay absolutamente nada. Por el precio que tiene más no se puede pedir y además está muy céntrico

Für uns hat diese Herberge alle Erwartungen an eine Herberge erfüllt. Für 15€ pro Person bekommt man hier einen Schlafplatz in einem Stockbett mit echter Bettwäsche. Jeweils vier Stockbetten bilden ein Zimmer. Die Zimmertrennwände gehen allerdings nicht bis an die Decke, sodass man Geräusche und Licht aus anderen Zimmern auch immer mitbekommt. Man kann die Küche verwenden und - gegen Aufpreis - Wäsche waschen lassen. Die Lage direkt neben der Kathedrale ist ziemlich genial.
Die Bäder sind leider sehr klein.
Der Hospitalero ist sehr herzlich und gibt einem das Gefühl, willkommen zu sein.

Un albergue muy majo y no por las instalaciones, que dejan mucho que desear para una ciudad como SANTANDER.
Lo que lo hace majo es la gran labor, impagable, de los HOSPITALEROS VOLUNTARIOS que se han ido sucediendo aquí, a lo largo de los años que lleva abierto.

Por desgracia suele ser objetivo de todo tipo de trapaceros, que vienen aquí en verano, haciéndose pasar por verdaderos PEREGRINOS, sólo para conseguir un alojamiento barato.

Es un albergue de supervivencia en Santander. No será el mejor albergue de tu camino... pero bueno, el peregrino agradece y el turista exige.

One of the pilgrims smelled awful and hadn't showered for 3 or 4 days.
When the host was notified about the issue, he didn't do anything about it, condemning all of us to a night of stink and reek.
That said, the host did recommend us a great restaurant named Sin Vueltas that was awesome.

At the end of a long walk all you want to do is to find somewhere to rest your head regardless of the state of the place. The albergue, is long overdue a make over. Just so pilgrims can feel comfortable using the facilities, mainly the showers. This said, the kitchen had a cooker microwave and other utincils for every one to use, all in all, ignore the bad and make the best. Disfruta.

Do not stay here. I was going to stay here tonight but right before we went to sleep some fellow guests found live bed bugs in their bed. Everyone started checking and more guests began finding dead and/or live ones on their clothes or bedding. This was across several different dorm rooms. Almost all the guests packed up and vacated. Highly recommend avoiding this location.
