As others say, the first part (before the tunnel) is not hard. It’s a steep uphill walk with a handrail. It’s worth it just to go up to this point if you don’t want to go any further. The first half took us around 20 mins.
After the tunnel (which is super dark), it gets harder. At first it’s just uneven terrain with a drop on one side (no barrier), and as you continue it gets harder, at one point we were pretty much climbing. The second half took us a further 40 minutes. It was scary but in the end it was worth it. Coming down was also not easy, I went down a lot on my bottom as I was afraid of slipping 😂 don’t wear white!
In total with photo stops at the top, it took around two hours. Not suitable for children. Make sure you do it early in the day before it gets too hot.
Also make sure you get the permit online. No one checked ours, but maybe they do in high season.

Amazing hike! I thought I’d struggle as I’m not too fit but I didn’t, I really enjoyed it! Watch my experience on YouTube (MillieMoments) ☺

A challenging hike especially if the weather is hot. You’ll need a good level of fitness and hiking boots/good trainers as the rocks are worn smooth and very slippery. Flip flops are not allowed. There are signs everywhere saying you need to purchase a permit from the natural park website to climb. Take at least 1 litre of water, more if the weather is hot. It’s an easy climb up to the tunnel then a scramble after that. Expect to be climbing over lots of rocks and boulders with sheer drops. Follow the red route up. Navigation is easy as there are red dots spray painted on the rocks every 10 meters. The path zig zags alot but don’t be tempted to take short cuts as it’s not safe and if you go off trail you’ll not benefit from the safety chains and hand holds cut into the rocks. From the harbour it takes about 3 hours to get to the summit and back. It says children are not permitted past the tunnel section.

It’s a great hike in a sunny yet mild day. We went during the Easter. I guess there were more people than usual, so we had to get a ticket (free of charge) with a specific time of entry. We waited 1 hour to enter. It’s recommended to wear proper hiking shoes after the tunnel, because the stone might be slippery. The path is rather rocky. You have a wonderful view along the hiking trail. We went to the viewpoint on the other side (Mirador de Carabineros) instead of the top. It seems to be a lovely home of seagulls with less people. We spent 2.5 hours return stopping for lots of pictures in between. Highly recommended!

I have reached the top many times, but it is still fantastic every time. Best to go up early because you have no shade once you get passed the tunnel. Make sure to take enough water. Views are amazing. Baby seagulls in nests all around. Good shoes are a must. A place I always visit when I stay in Calpe

When you love a stunning view and can walk maximum 1 hour this is really a must see.

My wife has a small handicap but easily managed to reach a certain point were the view is amazing.

You can go further but is not required to get a nice picture.

Its a marvellous place to visit if you like good views. Recommendations: carry a lot of water with you ( there is a fountain in the base ), but it’s the only one ) , and if you go up slow, you are walking and climbing rocks for 3 hours. Hidratation is essential.
When you reach the top, you get a beautiful view of all beaches and citys near there, so nice!
