Gándara International School I Colegio Montessori cerca de Vigo

After this first year of our 2 kids attending Gandara, I thought I’d leave a review for others that, like me, were a bit lost when looking for an international school in the Vigo area.
After several years living abroad, we came back to Galicia and started looking for a school that was Montessori style, international and most importantly, where our kids would be happy. I’m glad to say we found it in Gandara.
They follow Montessori principles, however not in a dogmatic, strict way and adapt as they learn, creating a space of authentic respect for themselves and others, collaboration, curiosity and joy.
As per "Infantil" (3-6YO), the group our kids have attended, they have the best guides in Iago and Rocio. Iago is the most calm, clear and focused on the kids’ development and wellbeing person I’ve ever met. He’s one of the founders of the school and you can tell as his engagement is out of this world. Also, this 23-24 has been Rocio's first year and what a landing! She’s also such a calm, positive and knowledgeable influence for our kids! With perfect english, she brings a true world citizen view to the school that truly enrich the conversations and our kids lives.
And I can’t speak yet for the older kid’s groups, but I’m already impress with the transition plan for our oldest, starting “Ciclo 1” next year, and already attending the older kids’ “show and share” sessions, has a “madrina” or sponsor on a girl on that group already showing him the ropes and making him feel so very welcomed, so he’s, far from afraid, truly excited about what next year will bring!
Also Marina, the principal, has a clear vision and caring and calm attitude that gives us the confidence on the years to come. Vero, is their admin and the best smile every single morning welcoming every single kid by name in the school entrance is a joy to deal with. Knowledgeable, very engaged and always helpful.
Lastly, the space is great! Big garden with tress to climb, vegetable patch truly used by the kids and great spaces and materials that are really looked after by the school’s team and kids.
I whole heartedly recommend this school and I can say I’m always relaxed and happy with my kids attending this school where they are developing into who they want to be, with a base of respect and collaboration we also see coming to life between them both at home and with others.
This is a long review but I feel the school deserves it and I also wish I could have found more information from other’s that knew the school when doing my search. Best of luck finsing the best school for your kids. We feel we found it here.

@s acompañantes teñen unha entrega admirable, no seu camiño infinito de aprendizaxe no que van da man c@s nen@s.
Os espazos interiores e os materiais son pura inspiración, sempre que vou quixera voltar a ser neno para quedar alí. Os exteriores dan para moitas actividades de todo tipo e permiten un contacto directo ca natureza.
O noso fillo leva 4 cursos, desde primaria!
Na nosa familia priorizamos aptitudes emocionais, respeto, autonomía, vontade e paixón de aprender. A parte curricular ven naturalmente cando se acadan as outras. Cada unha ó seu xeito/ritmo. Confiando

Fantastico lugar, para la educacion de infantil y primaria. Sus alumnos son afortunados del lugar. Bravo

Mi hija es ella misma en Gándara ❤

Mi hija ah estado en Gandara y menuda decepción, ahí es todo muy bonito o eso te hacen creer . Piensas que va a un buen colegio , en el que está aprendiendo inglés y que con ese método está aprendiendo jugando ….. pero no es así . Cuando la cambias de colegio te das cuenta de que su nivel no está acorde con el de niños de su edad y después de pagar un pastizal para que tu hijo lleve una educación y aprenda te das cuenta de que lo único que has hecho es tirar con el dinero .
