La Taverna del Racó del Pla

One of the best tapas restaurants I have ever frequented. Upon entry, we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. The service was superb, the surroundings were traditional and the open kitchen is always a good thing. The food arrived, which was fresh, delicious and extremely good value for money. I will be returning to Alicante several times over the next few months and this will be the only place I'll eat. What a gem! I cannot recommend enough.

Where do I begin? Outstanding service, very fast, polite, welcoming members of staff. Beautiful atmosphere. Clean, fresh looking environment. Absolutely delicious food! I have very limited Spanish and I felt very welcome here. We had pork paella and various starters all of which were superb. I'll definitely be back again. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our starters and main dish, the wine choice was really good too. The service, despite not speaking English very well, was very well disciplined, don't think we were missing any cutlery for more than 2 minutes. The desserts (cheesecake and something that looked like pudding) weren't that special, but they didn't ruin the experience.

Despite coming late due to delayed flight, it wasn’t a problem. The waiter was very professional and nice and the tuna steak was amazing. The wine was perfectly matched and very joyful.

Wow! This was our star dinner night in Alicante. Everything that we ordered was incredible and our wine was also delicious. We enjoyed how attentive our waiter was, his recommendations and the price was relative to the great quality of the food.
We especially loved the fresh scallops, the bacon-wrapped dates, and the “saquito” which was a crunchy and flaky pastry stuffed with meat.
All wonderful and will very much return again on our next visit.

Excellent. That one word describes the venue perfectly in every respect. I am dam near 86 years of age, eaten in many restaurants worldwide and I truly would be struggling to find a fault. I will most certainly be returning and soon.

Honestly, the service was so great and welcoming, you felt like you were at your uncles house!

The food was great too, and they made certain alternations to our dishes as one person did have dietary restrictions.

Amazing food and service!! The foie gras with cheese was the highlight. Staff was so attentive and helpful! Highly recommended and we will definitely come back again :)

We sat by the bar and had some fantastic pulpo and other bits, all washed down with some great wine. The staff are super friendly and helpful recommending dishes to try and telling you about the local area.

Very polite and helpful service. The food was special and very delicious. I recommend the paella. You can order in English too.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Both local and tourist friendly - the staff are astounding even for this non-Spanish speaker! I sat at the bar for two nights in a row and had the most wonderful food!! Croquetas, sardines + cheese, pulpo (octopus) and the little sandwiches with Iberian ham and Roquefort were to die for!! Get there before 9:15 and you’re sure to find a seat at the bar.

The atmosphere, service and food was all very good. I totally recommend this place for a local experience.

Walking by I assumed this was a Spanish equivalent of a local/rustic run down pub, but walking in and eating there it was quite a bit finer than expected. (I need to specify; it was not at all expensive. It was very fairly priced. As a non native it was startlingly so)
The food was delicious (my partner who has on multiple occasions mentioned how he does not like calamari or olives tried to steal my share of both at this place). We had the mixed fried dishes and it was so good! I also had an amazing glass (or, ok, two) of a Ribera del Duero.
Our waiters did now all speak English, but they were all amazing and service minded (and we even received some delicious free samples of their dessert).

Had I more days to spend in this city: I would come back regularly for sure :)
