La Oleoteca de Córdoba. Catas de Aceite (Olive Oil Tasting)

We loved our tasting we did with Mari! She was extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and she made us feel welcome. We learned so much about the production process and now we know how to navigate the olive oil section at our local supermarket! We ended up buying two bottles to take home, but did not feel pressure to buy anything at all. Would recommend to anyone.

I did an olive oil tasting with Mari Carmen, and I must say, it was a great experience. She was very passionate and knowledgeable about olive oils. Very gracious, and explained everything. I learned so much from the whole experience. I highly recommend this tasting to anyone who loves to cook, wanting to learn about olive oil or visiting Cordoba. A truly wonderful time.

My husband and I had the best experience! Mari Carmen is very knowledgeable and passionate about olive oil. We learned so much and bought several different oils for salads and cooking. This is a great activity to do if you are visiting Cordoba! We used what we learned when eating at different restaurants during out trip. Smell the oil starting at the chest, chin, nose then taste!!

Antonio was awesome and explained in a fun way most common types of olive oil from region. He showed the professional way savour the oil-rubbing, smelling at different levels...tasting... He has books also, that he showed to give a visual of the particular olives used. I was also gifted a jar of olives as I had told him earlier how much I loved the olives in Andalusia (the best in the world!!). I feel much more knowledgeable about olive oil now and must find a way to bring to Canada!!! (and olives). I will be back one day for the harvesting!

Found the AirBnB oil tasting experience for here and it was phenomenal. Mari Carmen is so knowledgeable and passionate, with great English where she explained even the technical process of olive oil making process to us. I have never tried something similar and loved this tasting. I learned so much and bought some delicious olive oil to take home!

We came across the shop by accident and what a happy accident it was! We enjoyed trying the different types of olive oil (who knew there were so many types!) and Mari was so kind and passionate in sharing her knowledge and expertise with us. And even though she was not fluent, she tried her best to speak in English to accommodate us and we appreciate that a lot.

What a wonderful, inspirational experience. Mari Carmen has taken us passionately in the world of olive oil and its hidden treasures. A must do when you have the time in Cordoba.

My wife and I did an Olive Oil tasting here with Mari Carmen and it was spectacular. She explained the olive oil process to us in a way we hadn't known about before, the differences in different oils, the reasons behind certain things, and helped refine our palates. Would highly recommend this shop for a tasting.

A great selection of olive oil - we were able to test whatever oil we selected and got good recommendations.
Service is better than expected and we even got a replacement for our oil, which unfortunately dropped on the street - very customer friendly.

Absolutely delightful little store with a wide variety of high quality olive oils. The tasting lesson is well-worth the cost if you have time to sit down and spend two hours learning about olive oil. Highly recommend this.

The storekeeper Maria was lovely and very helpful in helping us understand the types of olive oil and letting us taste each and every one of them! We got many different varieties of Olive oil to bring home for friends and family

We went here for an olive oil tasting and were pleasently surprised in several ways. Anna prepared several oils and explained in all details the process of olive oil production. She could answer all our questions and showed us many different oils. There was no pressure to buy something.

The oil tasting with Mari Carmen was incredible! Mari Carmen walked us through the process of how olive oil is made, what determines a good olive oil, and how to properly taste it. She is so incredibly bubbly and kind! It is easy to see how passionate she is about the topic. We had a great time tasting 5 separate olive oils and trying to identify the different tastes within it. Mari Carmen provided bread and water to cleanse our palettes between olive oils and let us try even more at the end of the official tasting. Highly recommend!

This nice little shop is an absolute must for olive oil in Córdoba. Andrés and Mari Carmen are super friendly and very helpful. They recommended one of the best oils I’ve ever tried and even connected me with the owner of the olive mill in the region. If you have the chance you should step by!

I took a day trip to Córdoba with other students in my study abroad program and we ran into this cute store with a grand variety of olive oils. We had a wonderful time learning about and tasting different olive oils, as well as practicing our Spanish with the woman who was working that day. Highly recommend to those who visit Córdoba, we had such a great time :)

Amazing olive oil tasting. We got some olive oil from her to go with our bread meat and cheese from the supermarket and it was amazing.

I recently visited La Oleoteca as I was looking for a specific Olive oil from Andalusia. Maria Carmen helped me to find it. She was so knowledgable that I felt I wanted to find out more about the oils from this region. She was running a tasting in English that afternoon so I decided to join. Although I know quite a lot about olive oil, I found the tasting fascinating and Maria Carmen’s enthusiasm and knowledge made it a really fun and informative experience. She was keen to answer any questions and her vivacious and friendly manner made it a very enjoyable afternoon. Would highly recommend doing this is you are interested in cooking and food.
