Gibraltar Duty Free Shop

Got to give this place 5 stars. Where else can you buy alcohol at such low prices. Expect to pay a third less than UK price on most spirits. Even got 1ltr of High commissioner whisky for £3.95!!!
I was told by the assistant that I could bring 4ltrs of spirits back to UK. If you have a connecting flight then the limit is much less. The only thing missing was the foam/plastic sleeves that protect your bottle from transport damage. This is due to the reduced use of plastics.

An earlier review (Robert Young)......Try pouring your Johnnie Walker from a vertical angle. This new bottle is fitted with a security device that stops the bottle from being refilled with inferior whisky.

I would like to share the experience I had with two of the sales assistants at the till, today, Jade and Daisy, who went out of their way to help and support me during a stressful experience at the airport. They were kind, humane, supportive and compassionate. I really appreciate all their help and their kind words, they definitely made a difference. This is honestly costumer service that exceeds my expectations. Thank you Jade and Daisy!

Great shop to get your boozy bargains just before you board your plane back to the Uk. Also full range of cigars and cigarettes for the spineless people who still cannot kick that filthy habit. Just opposite the shop you will find the “Spirit of the Rock” shop, the only place to find genuine Gibraltar spirits hand made lovingly here on the Rock.

What is the allowance taking spirits and cigarettes to the UK

Was charged for 3 jack daniels when only had 2. Flight was called so was in a rush. Have send chat messages but no response. Disappointed till reconciliation must have shown one jack daniels extra, unless someone else had it.

So today, 14 Sept 2023 at approx 20:45, my friends and I went inside the perfumes and cosmetics section when a lady with blonde hair approached as as soon as we entered and said ‘This shop is only open for buying costumers. Don’t waste our time.’ We stepped out then she locked the doors and only left 1 open. I can’t believe this woman! She was so rude to us. Then came in 2 other costumers and she did not say anything. I think we have just been racially attacked. Such an impossible woman. This needs to be actioned.

Had a poor experience here recently.
Flying back to the UK, bought bottle of
spirits.
This was not packed properly by Gib Duty free staff, result my bottle was confiscated at Heathrow.
Over 100mls liquid is banned on planes

Staff here never advised or offered to pack it in a special bag. They must have known about rules

No reply to letter, they never answer phone, and can't be contacted AVOID

Just arrived home from Gibraltar. Purchased Expensive Whiskey for a disabled friend at home. I informed the sales assistant I was taking it to Manchester, via London. I showed him my boarding pass. He said, he was not interested in my boarding pass. He put the Whiskey and wine into a white canvass bag. When I went through customs at Heathrow on a transfer flight to Manchester, the security staff confiscated all three bottles. They said, this often happens to passengers from Gibraltar. The duty free shop are aware that they MUST place duty free bottles in a sealed plastic bag. I am making a claim through the governor of Gibraltar and complaint.

Had a very poor experience at duty free Gibraltar (perfume and cosmetics section) Went in to look and check some perfumes to take home before departure but this very rude lady approached us and told us if we are not gonna buy anything then we’re just wasting her time as they’re closing anyway. We left without having the chance to check any of the perfumes as we were so disheartened. Afterwards, two other customers went inside and had a good look around the shop without any interruptions. We just thought it’s a racist thing to do making Gibraltar duty free not a very good place to shop for me. I hope you do something with this as I would never wish anyone to experience what I did.

I purchased a bottle of Johnnie Walker whisky only to find, when I unscrewed the cap, it was designed for using on an optic bar.
Why would you sell this to the general public?
