Had no idea this restaurant was famous until I was writing this review... honestly I went there because it was one of the only restaurants open on Sunday for dinner and looked very pretty on the outside. It was also father's day in Finland, but I had no trouble getting a table.

The interior was stunning, and quite spacious, although it seemed to be split between the bar, the restaurant area, and the cafe area.

Food was very good. I really liked the lightly cured venison appetizer I got off their seasonal game menu, as well as the creme brulee I got for dessert. To be honest, wasn't a huge fan of the reindeer steak - I don't think it was an issue with the preparation, I just think I'm not a huge fan of reindeer. The sauce and vegetables accompanying it were exceptional, I just found the meat very gamey.

Rest your legs and bones at Kappeli as you venture through the city. Kappeli offers you three fantastic options: Bar, Cafe and Restaurant.

Friendly, helpful and polite service crew. They smile and chat with you even when the place is buzzing with customers. I did not feel like just another warm body coming in. There is a very welcoming ambience at Kappeli.

The Bar has a drinks menu, of course! But have a look at the main dishes it provides for Bar customers. Yummy! Tired the Finnishlandia Mule and a double shot of neat Finnish whiskey.

I ventured into the Cafe and had the Salmon soup (to die for!!!) was 15€. Go for this option! Excellent and tantalising.

The Restaurant has a cosy ambience. You will need to be seated.

Kappeli looks amazing and captivating g at night or early morning during winter when their lights are all on outside. Just magical!

Such a lovely place to enjoy some delicious food. It's very relaxing and the food is absolutely delicious! I had the salmon soup which was so tasty! Definitely recommend 👌 it's only 5 minutes walk from helsinki cathedral :)

Beetroot and Blackerry sauce served as-if it's a visual work of art. This stunning glass house restaurant in the center of the Esplanade park delivers food worthy of the setting. It was crowded and noisy, the waitress was charming when available, I walked to the counter to pay for me exquisit food because, well, when you start waiting, it stops being fun.

The restaurant was so good so we went there twice during our short trip in Helsinki. The salmon dishes (soup, grill) and beef are all excellent! The service was great as well.

I love this place. It is so elegant! It brings me so much pleasure to just have some coffee and a piece of cake here. It is, of course, not cheap, but when we consider the ideal location and how good it looks, I can't say it is really expensive.

Perfect traditional restaurant in Helsinki with perfect service, best and very tasty regional food, esp. grilled rendeer & smoked salmon. Best atmosphere in the evening.

We were lucky to get stools at the bar and I was rewarded with one of the best Old Fashioneds I've had.

A bit of a tourist trap but it's a lovely building with a wonderful vibe.

We came to this place after making a booking at 3 we thought that we were gonna try and go earlier at 2 and they could still accommodate us, wonderful service with a nice staff, we choose the three course menu where you can choose between two starters and three main courses.
The main course in my case being the days catch and the soup for the starter, and for my partner we choose the reindeer main course with the same soup, the food was extremely good even with the place being busy we received our food in a pretty rapid pace which was very good ( I'm a fast eater ).
The dessert was also something unexpected but very good.
Highly recommend this place in the heart of Helsinki with a beautiful view outside.

Beautiful restaurant, relaxing ambience and 100 STARS for the mushroom soup! The entire table ordered the Funnel chanterelle soup, the presentation was 💯and the rich flavor like no other!

Super lovely place! Clean, tidy and organised!
Everyone super nice and smily! And take order super fast, and make it fast! I They have decaf, vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options! And they are designed the orders in very beautiful way!
Coffeeshop, bar and restaurant is very cozy and have home vibe! Temperature and music level are in the right level! I really enjoy to spend time there! Highly recommend for date or family time!

The staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable, and the food is next level. Truly something special. I love how there is a whole menu for asparagus meals, and also love the options for vegetarian items. Everything was so delicious!

Great place to dine it, try the Menu Eino Leino truly a wonderful experience and rendeer meat superb! Atmosfere is relaxing, service at high level, drinks well done and place has wow effect! Perfect for romantic dinners!

First meal in Helsinki and we started off on the right foot. The restaurant was in a beautiful building in a beautiful park. Great place for a date.

The salmon on the soup was lightly smoked then grilled. It was the best salmon I’ve ever had. The soup was great too! Also loved the winter vegetables salad. A great introduction to Finnish food.

We got some pastries in bakery too!

Beautiful, historical, cozy and classy. It’s no cheap but I don’t think it’s considered expansive.

Great menu with typical dishes from Finland, even the woman from the restaurant explain US every dish how was made and the history behind It.
Apart from that the food was delecious.
