Ravintola Nolla

Nolla provided a great first experience with clean, refined flavors and a quality that ranks among the top restaurants I've visited.

The purist concepts and delicious combinations with clean and harmonious flavors easily met the expectations.

The service was generally professional, though there were minor issues with discussions about the availability of items on the menu. When I inquired about cheese for the third course, it led to some confusion and me deciding to skip it. There were a few other small inconsitencies, but nothing that impacted the experience significantly. However, since the rest of the staff was very friendly and positive, I am sticking with an overall 5/5 rating.

Our visit yesterday was the perfect ending of a perfect holiday.
I really love the zero waste idea and I can really recommend the chef's menu and the non-alcoholic pairing. We felt very pampered and happy by the end of the lovely dinner and will most certainly come back on our next trip to Helsinki.

Didn’t have a reservation, called on the day but they were full! Was passing by and decided to give it a try & popped in! To my surprise the lovely staff found a spot for me (it was busy!)

Obviously had to go for the set menu and so I did. It did not disappoint. Went for the full experience, loved the steak tartar full umami and went down great with orange wine I had, the gnocchi were great, crudo with rhubarb was super fresh and on point! The zander was PERFECTLY cooked along with the zucchini and amazing herb & Pil Pil sauce! Dessert was simple perhaps could be a little more exciting but after an extensive meal and a few glasses of wine.. it was what was needed - refreshing, light and easy to enjoy!

Coming from the Mediterranean, I’m so used to eating seasonal produce, nice natural flavours and quality products. Nolla delivered that.

Simple, understandable and proper cooking. Not pretentious at all!

So lucky we got the last table for tonight. Early dinner. Tomato carpaccio and beef tartare were the highlights of the starters. Daily fish as a main course was exceptionally cooked, and served with aome new seaaon potatoes, peas and butter sauce. Main meat was also well enjoyed. Service was absolutely best we have received in Finland for a longest time. Location has an extensive restaurant history and we loved the “lauri”, the compost. A little possibly improvement, if any, desserts. Will definitely recommend and will revisit myself soon.

Writing this review still sitting at the restaurant. Came here on a solo trip to Helsinki, big foodie and done a lot of great places. This restaurant was not only delicious, but the card is creative, perfectly balanced and the service was amazing. Had the deer tartare and the goose, followed by ginger ice cream and meringue (what?!), and the whole thing was beyond expectations.

It’s a small team managing a big restaurant so I guess sometimes it’s not perfect, but this was one of the best restaurant I « paid » myself ever.

We were a family with 2 younger kids. Everyone loved the service and atmosphere. This was our first time to a zero waster restaurant and we all really liked the food and the only reason for a 4 star for the food was because some just was not to everyone's pallet. Some of the highlights: mushroom nuggets were a HUGE hit, mum loved the fish starter in the brown butter, dad and youngest liked their portabello mushroom steaks, everyone loved dessert.

I chose Ravintola Nolla as the special place to treat my friend as he hosted me during my trip to Finland. We ended the very happy experience with a meal here after being recommended this place by some locals. I really liked the concept of zero waste which was explained to us by Ivan, who also had a lot of knowledge about how the dishes were made. We were keen to try what Ivan recommended and the corn, mushroom dish ended being our favourite dish. It's beautiful inside the restaurant, thoughtful design. Thank you for taking care of us!

We had Chef’s choice menu at Nolla this July, but I just have time to do the review now.
Food is sophisticatedly tasty. Both the meat and fish options for the main courses were outstanding. All dishes were amazing, the latter was even better than its previous ones. Elegant food decoration.
The staffs were attentive. We were served by a pleasant waiter with curly hair. He smiled always, gave good recommendations. When I asked what was the wine the next table was being served, he gave me a small glass to taste for free. The meal price was affordable in comparison with other fine dining restaurants.
The atmosphere was in general pleasant. However, the table we got was a bit too small for a couple. We sit quite close to the other tables. Therefore I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere.
This is not a full 5 stars, but close!

By far the best fine dine restaurant I’ve been in Helsinki. We came to celebrate my friend’s birthday and we were all happy of the place we chose. Great fresh ingredients with delicious outcome. Good vegetarian options. Our Australian waiter was very kind and professional.

Amazing and clever food! They came up with great alternative courses that fit my allergies and I especially enjoyed our first course which was a fish soup, perch to my memory. The dessert I would have changed to something more interesting than sorbet/ice cream (that they had at that time) but it was still very nice! (I got a cotton candy ice cream which I have never had before)

Food was really good. Might be my best meal in Finland. We booked the day before and only 5pm slot was available.

Got the negroni to start, which was delicious and interesting. Got fish and tatare to start, mains were fish and deer.

All were really delicious! Would go back if i have the chance.

We had the chef’s choice tasting menu and wine pairings (€56 and €46). It was divine!
Interesting concepts and sustainably sourced produce. This place has a green star in the Michelin Guide.

Outstanding service and restaurant during my first trip to Finland.

Was amazed at the timeless approach to local cousine - greatly visual preparations and exceptional taste.

Restaurant Nola Helsinki provides great “honest” dishes that hit the right balance between different flavors (salt, sour, bitter, sweet etc). The ambiance in the restaurant is “Scandinavian” modern while still remaining cozy and relaxed. The personnel all seem to enjoy their job and are passionate about food/drinks, they take time to explain and assist with wine pairings etc. I especially enjoyed the delicious simplicity of the beer pickles and the side dishes containing lots of “in-season” vegetables. The price value is excellent and location great. Restaurant Nola is a must visit when in Helsinki.

A tasting menu second to none. Service was stellar and the vibe was perfect on this snowy Helsinki evening. Look forward to my next trip back!

Great Food. The non-alcoholic menu accompaniment is very well matched to the food - just like a good alcoholic one! It’s worth a try!

I found this is a zero waste project restaurant from the michelin guide and the food was great! I had the 5 courses menu chefs choice and it was very tasty, with nice textures, all the flavors are blown inside your mouth! Great service, the manager is the perfect person for the job, very polite and very willing to explain you everything, the entire experience was amazing! I had a great time and I would definitely visit it again on my next trip to Helsinki.

The food was delicious? Oh my, I wish I could eat daily those crispy mushrooms! And the pickles! Yum! Tried a few of their beers too - they were good! Loved the atmosphere, the attention given to the details - aka beautiful furniture , nice deco, amazing entry service!

We asked for wine recommendations and they let us try all of them to decide, which was a very nice touch I've never seen before to be honest.

All the food was great, but the highlight was the sourdough bread pumpkin pasta with whey sauce - such richness in flavours and what an amazing texture

We were there for almost 3 hours, but could have stayed more. Also, they had to turn down several guests because they were fully booked, so do make a reservation (and rest assured that this is the sign of a great restaurant!)
