Visited a few castles this week and this was the best. Atmospheric, well explained with an English guide pamphlet and lovely views. Reasonable price Vs some others we've seen and quite a lot to see. Recommended.

Stunning castle so well kept with beautiful rooms and very informative guide book in English. All real fires inside and really gives an idea of life inside. Also grisly but interesting exhibition of torture. A fantastic choice for a day with not so nice weather. Will definitely recommend and visit again

This is the best museum I've seen I'm my life. The whole fortified house comes to live with multiple fireplaces burning wood making smoke and giving the ambience of the chateau, with amazing sound effects throughout the house, with real food and also real instruments and artifacts from back in the day. And so much more. We also love the last exhibition of the medieval torture devices, also real devices. The stuff was super nice. We spend 4 hours inside. I truly appreciate all the effort put in to this museum!! HIGH RECOMMEND THE VISIT 🥰♥

Interesting exposition of cave castle itself, pre-historic artefacts, local fauna. Torture room not for people with live imagination and weak nerves, might give nightmares. Very interesting for kids, as well as adults.

What an amazing place. The troglodyte cave exhibition actually in the cave where they used to live was excellent. History of the fortified house over 600 hundred years was great but the torture exhibition was a bit too genuine for my liking...

Very sereal experience. The instruments of torture in the room behind the gift shop were very thought provoking.

A self guided tour with a free folder of English translations of the educational signage. This was a home for local French nobility for 600 years, and is a rare intact cliff chateau, built on, and into the sheer rock face. This is on top of the Paleolithic traces, which are displayed in reproductions in the lowest level of the Chateau.

Wonderful! This strange house clinging to the mountain with its washbasins carved in the rock is full of things ranging from antique furniture to weapons, tools, clothes and everyday objects of the last. If you love old things it will be a paradise. You can climb up to the top and look down. At the end there was a scary exhibit about tortures and a shop for souvenirs.

A very ancient chateau with a facinating history. It's rare to find examples where furniture still exists as so much was destroyed in the revolution.

Great place to visit, really interesting. Currently has the torcher chamber, but it's not for the faint hearted and not for young ones!

Amazing place. I highly recommend. It's very unique and different languages are catered for. Some larger attractions in France could learn from it. A lot of stairs for older people.

Do not drive past this troglodyte experience. Self guided tour with a detailed written information folder in French, English etc.

Awesome fort, built upon a prehistoric cavern complex. A must see if you're in the area.

We really enjoyed our visit here. It is an amazing building with a history back to prehistoric times when the site was populated by cave people. Beautiful period furniture, friendly staff. Perhaps not suitable for very young children or those with mobility issues as there are lots of steps, many uneven. While we were there there was a torture exhibition there, although I don't think this is a permanent feature. This was interesting but nauseating at the same time - the descriptions are graphic. I wouldn't take my young children into that part.
