Camping du Lac

Great camping with huge plots. We originally couldn't stay for a week, but after the owner switched some reservations around we could stay longer. The camping has a lot to do for children, like the two playgrounds and a pool.

Can only echo previous reviews regarding cleanliness, sevices and management (good English spoken). We had a couple of evening meals at the cafe - good value, plain cooking. For caravanners, there are two approaches to the site from Argeles-Gazost. Waze indicated a road not suitable for towing but Co-pilot took us the long way round, which was definitely less exciting! There are few, if any, level pitches and ours required levelling on a civil engineering scale! But the views were worth it. Wifi was particularly good, which is as well because 4g was a bit iffy. To the visit list I would add Cauteret ski area, beautiful wild flowers in the alpine meadows and a good strenuous walk down from the lake (up by ski lift). Pau was also worth a visit.

Great place. Nice big open tent spots, with tree shade and as I could make out same for the caravan or camper. Very friendly receptionist, she helped me with planning and arranging a canyoning spot as well as a paragliding session.

There is a small bar/restaurant on the camping with friendly staff.

Will definitely keep this in mind if I travel through the pyrenees again.

My family and I were on a cabin. It was very comfortable.
Staff were all of them very kindly and try to talk to us in spanish (chef talks very well).
Location is really well to do lots of excursions so it's a perfect place to stay as with the family as couples, it's a calm place in a wonderful environment and lovely people working on it, what else can you need?

Clean and well arranged, beautiful camping with different plants and beautiful grass. Camping plots are big and the view quite nice. We couldn’t really see the lake from the camping, but the quality of camping it self is stunning! I really enjoyed swimming pool - very clean as well. Toilets and showers clean, stuff welcoming. I spend there a weekend with group of friends and it was very relaxing.

Without doubt the best campsite we have stayed at in France.
From the wonderful scenery to the happy smiling helpful Staff.
We couldn't have asked for more.
Great size pitch plenty big enough for our VW Campervan and awning.

The facilities are spotless and great showers too.

Simple and very efficient check in and shown to 0ur pitch personally by the owner.

Highly recommend the food.
Fair prices and once again Great smiling friendly Staff.
Can also recommend the Paella.

Lots of information to hand.
The site felt homely and the owners work very hard to keep the site spotless and well maintained.
Very peaceful too.
Can't fault it and look forward to returning soon.

Great campsite in most ways. In a beautiful location, very very clean!! Hot showers, all facilities you might need. Reasonable and very competitive camping rates plus a nice swimming pool. Also very close to beautiful mountain tops and hikes and all sorts of good family activities. When we got there the family came our to meet us which was a nice touch, they spoke very good English and escorted us to our plot, it wasn't too busy when we were there but the Husband was so helpful lent us a camping plug adaptor and and extension!!! And helped to put up the tent, the couple in the shop/restaurant where lovely enough to make us all burgers and chips even tho they had been closed for 20 minutes. Can't think of a bad word or mark against the site and I'm not always easy to please!!

Best camping site on our roadtrip

On our roadtrip from Austria to Portugal we have been very lucky to find the Camping du Lac in the nationalpark. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and they all speak English very well. It's a very quiet and beautiful place and you can even eat there. We enjoyed both our dinner and breakfast.
"Merci" to everyone for our excellent stay. We are looking forward to seeing you again. :)

Lovely location, clean, well kept, large pitches, friendly and helpful staff. What more could you want from a campsite?

Perfect place, amazing view! Five stars is too low!
Quiet and all the staff take care of the clients.
The restaurant also is very good with fresh and local meal!
My stay was too short, I think I will plan to come back this place when I will be in France again!

Quiet and very well cared camping site with super helpful owners. The place is an ideal starting point to discover the French Pyrenees National Park.

Camping familial calme et très bien entretenu. Les emplacements sont grands, les sanitaires sont très propres.
La piscine et la situation est parfaite pour visiter la région.
Nous avons mangés plusieurs fois au restaurant. Les gérants sont d une amabilité incroyable. La qualité des plats est parfaite. Le service est attentionné dans une belle ambiance . Produits locaux et fait maison , le bonheur!! Aller y vite.

Es un Camping maravilloso! Muy bonito, acogedor y las instalaciones cuentan con una extraordinaria limpieza. El entorno es espectacular, tienes vistas a las montañas y al embalse, todo ello hace que se respire mucha paz y tranquilidad. Los dueños son una familia encantadora, fueron muy amables y flexibles con la hora de llegada, ya que nosotras llegamos bastante tarde. Su ubicación es inmejorable si quieres conocer Altos Pirineos y diversos valles de la zona. La verdad que en pocos campings hemos estado tan a gusto. De hecho, alargamos nuestra estancia una noche más de lo que teníamos previsto. Una experiencia, sin duda, para repetir.

Très bon séjour ! Semaine en chalet, très spacieux. Bonne literie, le camping est propre. Grand parc de jeux pour les enfants et nous avons pu profiter de la piscine également. Le camping est calme et très bien situé. Le restaurant est très bon et super accueil. Nous reviendrons
