Smart and welcoming restaurant serving French and regional classics and does it very well. Excellent wine selection. A choice of menus from lunch deals to an a la carte to an extravagant tasting menu. Quite expensive but definitely worth it!

A real gem! We booked for a party of 13 and sampled nearly every item on the menu. The food was outstanding, both in taste and presentation. They have a solid wine selection. Service started off slow but picked up nicely, becoming warm and personable. I recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for local yet upscale cuisine. I’m eager to return on my next visit to the region.

Great special venue for food sharing with friends and family. Food great, service is good. Definitely a restaurant worth travelling to. 4 stars for service as it was a little too formal and showy for me. Heating up brandy for a mediocre apple tart was style over substance.

Exceptional food and service, from flavor to plating to ingredient combinations — not a weak note among the dishes. Seriously some of the best food in the region - and it’s Michelin guide recommended for a reason.

The restaurant is nestled into a charming street so there’s no vehicle traffic to disrupt dining.

A lot of other reviewers writing in English claim to have issues with the staff if they didn’t speak French. We don’t speak a word of French and multiple staff were able to communicate with us just fine in English - although I could see if you have very detailed requests it could take a moment or some google translate to figure things out.

For 50 or 60 euro the tasting menus are an outrageously good value and offer superior food to that of restaurants we’ve tried around North America for twice the cost! Seriously just go here - it’s great.

We had the most amazing gastronomic experience at l'imparfait during our last night in Bergerac. Make sure you book as obviously this is a highly in demand restaurant. Every mouthful was like a taste of heaven, the food was fresh and complex - the wine divine. The service from our server 'David' was exactly the right amount of care and knowledge for a long summer evening grazing on all the delightful plates. Loved every second - highly recommended 👌 would return in a heartbeat- THANK YOU

Highly rate this restaurant and recommend it to anyone travelling in the area. The service was impeccable, the food was exquisite. Every detail of the menu was spot on. The wine recommendation was also great. We had a very pleasant evening and will definitely book again if we are in Bergerac.

Seriously good restaurant, innovative and delicious food plus friendly professional service. Hitting above its price range, with cosy vibe, our meal surprised with 2 amuse bouche - one prior to our main course, a second before dessert. Highly recommended.

Delicious! If you're a fan of foie gras, this is the place to be. Absolutely great bang for buck, the 45€ menu is spot on. Excellent staff, great wines, well recommend! Will certainly return when in the neighborhood again.

I returned yesterday, May 10, for lunch and the interior has been beautifully refurbished in lighter tones. Terrace outside was a real pleasure.
I had a delicious vegetarian dish followed by an Armagnac Soufflé. Service perfect.

A truly outstanding meal.
We had a light lunch from the Al a carte, but we're still treated like royalty, with amuse bouche, pre dessert, and extraordinary food.
Gazpacho a delight to the eyes and palate. The rum baba is beyond compare, and I say that as one very equivocal about rum.
Expensive but worth every penny. Go now, take my car.

The service went above and beyond, always made sure you were satisfied and comfortable.
Food was impeccable, I had the frois grais to start. It was of a perfect consistency, portion and taste.
Secondly I had the beef for my main, the truffles added that extra layer of flavour; my mouth was dancing from the complex taste of the truffles coupled with the savory sensation of the beef. I asked for it rare, and it was cooked to absolute perfection!

I would highly recommend, great atmosphere, beautiful architecture, impressive service and most of all delicious food.

Fabulous food, great service in the lovely older part of Bergerac.

In almost every restaurant I have been to over 4 decades I order the beef. I rate the fillet of beef from l’imparfait as at least in the top 3, if not the best. Amazing taste and tenderness and so rich mushrooms and sauce. Langoustine were wonderful too

Wonderful food in a cosy setting in one of the old streets of Bergerac. Service was great. I can recommend the oeuf parfait and the oeuf caviar as starter they are truly exceptional but really everything was perfect. We paid 140 euro for a starter, main course and dessert eith wine and aperitif. Worth every penny.

We were very impressed with the food. Recently went to a Michelin star restaurant in the region and actually found the food at L'imparfait superior at lesser cost. The service was attentive and the dishes were explained well. It is not cheap, but reasonable considering the quality. They are not pretentious and accepted us without a reservation and in our walking about clothes. They also accepted our small dog into the restaurant. Overall a very good experience and innovative cuisine.

My accommodation hosts made this dinner reservation for me, and it was an excellent recommendation. My waiter (I’m ashamed to say I forgot as to ask his name) was attentive and professional. He listened to my food allergies, and made recommendations that resulted in a delicious main course and dessert. As a member of La Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs I would have no hesitation recommending this restaurant.

Great little place in the old town where we hid away for a lovely lunch. The main portion sizes were more than enough food and the staff were very friendly and helpful. A must visit!

I have visited Bergerac hundreds of times over the last 18 years and have enjoyed eating in many of the restaurants there. Today we decided to stop in here as it was quiet. As we walked in past the huge open fire, surrounded by history and 12th century walls, we were greeted by friendly and happy staff.
We ordered our food and were most impressed. Very well presented and extremely tasty. We both had salmon for the main course and cannot understand how it can taste so much better than any salmon that we have eaten before.
This is now our new favourite restaurant in Bergerac and we shall visit whenever we have to go to the airport.
