WOWWWW! the food, the ambience and the friendly and helpful hosts were all so great! Truly amazing French culinary experience, the starters of foie gras was great and another version pan seared and stacked with fresh grilled prawns and a brioche with mushroom sauce! Yummm! Mains were amazing especially the scallop dish and also the inverted burger of onglet steak with cabbage and mushrooms. Dessert was super special with the champagne and sorbet with a herb dipped inside and bubbles of pear, and the chocolate cake was also divine!! Highly recommended restaurant!

As my father wisely told me when I was 14, “Never judge a book by its cover.” This sentiment holds true, particularly with our recent dining experience. The exterior of the restaurant is so unassuming that one might mistake it for a 1970s travel agency. However, this modest facade belies the outstanding experience within.

The cuisine is exquisite, with the “plat du jour” changing frequently based on the freshest available produce. The champagne list is both intriguing and reasonably priced. We selected a 2009 Blanc de Blanc at €75, likely the most expensive champagne on the menu.

The service provided by the two ladies attending our table was not only attentive but also warm and occasionally humorous, especially if you speak some French. Their hospitality added a personal touch to our dining experience.

We ordered a second bottle of champagne, and the restaurant owner graciously introduced us to the producer, who was seated nearby. We invited him to join us, further enhancing our evening.

Each dish was wonderfully prepared, featuring minimalist plating yet bursting with expressive flavors. As the afternoon progressed, the background jazz provided the perfect accompaniment to the vintage Armagnac we enjoyed as a digestif.

This experience was exceptional, and we will undoubtedly return.

What a great service! Very friendly and attentive staff. He walked us out to say ‘mind the step’. The food was amazing. Especially the Angus burger with brioche and foie gras. Never had the combination of shrimp and foie gras before, it was surprisingly good.

When we visit the region again, we will definitely come back. We really enjoyed it and we can recommend this place.

OMG - what an amazing dinner experience! We truly loved it, authentic French cuisine and a truly amazing restaurant team.

We had other plans but in the end just decided to come a second time for dinner the next day - just because we loved it so much.

Attention: Probably not the easiest place for vegetarians or vegans. But a true indulgence for lovers of foie gras, meat and cheese.

We‘ll probably stay in chateau Sacy again just for going to this restaurant :-)

If you can get a table here, go! We had an absolutely fab meal, great prices, it's local so be prepared menu in French and very limited English spoken. Uses local food and of course champagne 🍾 which we enjoyed with our meal - infection, 3 bottles were enjoyed. Dishes included sweetbreads, scallops, veal, seafood. It was fully booked. Highly recommend 👌

Excellent experience, the food is great and well executed, the staff went above and beyond to make you feel extremely welcome.
The owner(?) Is genuine and goes the extra mile to please you.

If I have the occasion to go back to champagne it will definitely be in my list

I had one of the best dinners of our trip to France at this lovely restaurant. Everyone was so friendly and patient even though I did not know how to speak French and was just pointing at things at the menu. The cod was absolutely amazing. I did learn how to say cheers - “Santé!” And one waiter came over to share a drink and also do magic tricks. It was a wonderful night. I am so happy we stumbled upon this place. Our dinner here will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Do not skip dining here. Everything was made with such precision and attention to detail, I did not want my meal to end. The staff were extremely attentive. And they even had a local sleight-of-hand magician

Visited again after last year's success. Excellent food, staff with humor and nice wines. If I lived nearby I would visit here more often

By far one of the best casual meals we have had in France - with the choice between the restaurant at the Chateau Sacy or Le Comptior, i would highly recommend Le Comptior every time having eaten at both (the only 2 real restaurants in Sacy area) , Staff are exceptional and friendly, the restaurant is cosy and vibrant with guests and the food delicious with great presentation and flavour. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were ok, as we could not read the menu (not being French)

Excellent service, friendly people, wonderful food. Visit the beautiful church steps behind after your meal for some nice view of the vineyards.

Fantastic place, great food and outstanding service. Wish we could have been able to go for dinner more evenings. Chez Mathias is not only a fantastic cook, but an outstanding person. Do yourself the favor and come here for dinner.

Owner is super funny and entertaining. He offered a shot of local spirit. Food was very nice and fresh, we got the 3 courses tasting menu. Fast service as well. We preferred this restaurant over fancier restaurants in the area.

My fiancé and I found this restaurant by pure chance and it has been the best meal we’ve had our whole trip. I HIGHLY recommend coming here, 1000% worth it!

What a lovely find. In the heart of premier cru champagne country is a very premier cru restaurant. It is not fine dining but it is wonderfully fresh tasty food cooked and served with passion and a smile. Front of house team are friendly and welcoming, excellent selection of dishes and as one would expect in a village surrounded by the region's finest vines, an equally fine selection of wines. Recommended.

The restaurant was full so we were unable to eat. Why the review? The waiter / manager? took the trouble to recommend another restaurant nearby and make a reservation for us. Our meal was a great success. Thank you Mathieu! Sad to have missed eating at Le Comptoir - it looked great.

Very friendly staff, excellent food. Fun atmosphere with people from the neighborhood as well as travelers speaking many languages. They modified the dishes for me since I am vegetarian. All the dishes on the menu come with wine recommendations. They didn't speak much English but were very patient getting my order even though I only know very little French.

Simply the best restaurant in the area. I beg you… go there. Drink champagne. Enjoy the sweetbreads (‘Ris de veau’) and the seared foie gras (‘foie gras poêlé’).
