Traditional & casual restaurant popular with locals. Limited menu on the chalkboard. Home made cooking with friendly wait staff. Some English, my French is petite but it all works out. Cash. Flat price for lunch- appetizer, main plate, dessert & wine. The duck terrine was delicious.
Excellent choice in the city for lunch. I recommend coming early to get a table before lunch rush without a reservation.

We headed to La Taverne for lunch as our first stop in Epernay and it was a fantastic decision! The short lunch menu included a wonderful steak tartare and a large selection of desserts. Unfortunately the appetizer we wanted was finished but I appreciate that they don’t make unlimited quantities of all dishes. Most importantly the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming and I loved the owners sigh of relief when I revealed that I could speak a little French! I highly recommend La Taverne for lunch - they even have a great selection of champagne by the bottle, though I didn’t see the locals drinking that with their Tuesday lunch!

Food is simple but good quality of ingredients.

Spent around €30 each for starter+main+dessert+coffee with both water and wine to drink: good value for money

We got here close before closing time. It was packed so atmosfere was nice it might be a little difficult for non french speakers to actually understand but you will get it done thanks to staffs will to communicate with you.

Overall great staff and food with big portions while maintaining reasonable prices.

Food was fresh and tasty. Service was nice. Terrace is good.

Alors pourquoi 4 étoiles en cuisine, tout simplement car on peut toujours faire mieux.😁😅
Service sympa et ambiance toujours présente même après 15 ans.... serveuse et patron adorables, qui m'ont replongés dans d'excellents souvenirs ensemble. Un très bon déjeuner que nous avons passé avec ma mère et mon frère.

Très bonne ambiance avec un accueil très chaleureux. Pas de chichis...D'une efficacité foudroyante dans le service.
Cuisine simple mais efficace. Très bon rapport/ qualité prix.

De passage sur Epernay nous nous sommes arrêtés à la Taverne. Nous avons passé un excellent moment. Cuisine au top produits frais, fait "maison " les sauces waouhh bravo au Chef , le service au top à l écoute et une ambiance familiale comme on les aimes .

Je recommande ce petit resto.. Un personnel super gentil, à vos petits soins, et une bonne cuisine maison. On s'est régalé, et c'était copieux. Et que dire du prix vraiment pas cher pour ce qu'on a mangé. Merci encore à nos serveuses et à leur gentillesse
