Apple Garden Café

We arrived close to closing which was mid afternoon, but the owner welcomed us in. They serve baked potatoes with toppings and desserts. The menu was in French and the owner showed us our options. We enjoyed a stew topping and the vegetarian topping with small side salads. We tried 2 different cookies and a delicious cheesecake with a crunchy crumb crust. I don’t know the names of anything we had, but it was all delicious. There is indoor or outdoor seating on a quiet, sunny, wind protected patio. You clear your own plates as you walk out to pay your bill. It was lovely to learn about the owner and how he came to start a business of an inexpensive but very delicious meal.

Such a nice place to have lunch! The food is fresh, tasty, healthy and made with love. We didn’t make a reservation, but were lucky to be early and found a table. We spent under 30 euros for a great lunch with our two children. The owner was very friendly. Really recommended!

Great food. Highly recommend stopping here. We were heading for the ferry and dropped in here with the kids for a bite to eat. Delicious food. The owner took time to explain everything on his menu. We were 10 days in France and I enjoyed this food the most.

What a beautiful little find. On the back off other reviews we popped in here before catching the boat. The owner was so welcoming , his English was brilliant. He went through the menu with us describing everything. They had a lunch special dressed potato, dessert n drink , and the kids menu was half a pototoe, dessert n drink. The cheesecake and cookies were fab. We had lunch out in the garden, a real sun trap. The owner came out with water for the table and informed us that there was hats available if anyone of us wanted them to keep the sun off us. On paying for our lunch, the owner gave us cookies for the kids for the boat. Definitely will be returning and highly recommended this little gem.

We loved visiting this cafe! The man working there was so kind when we were in a hurry to catch the ferry. He world needs more people like him. Loving setting. Baby friendly. Perfect, great job.

Delicious baked potatoes with a superbly crusted skin. Toppings vary according to seasonal ingredients. Cheesecakes are amazing and my kids love the cookies. Gorgeous outdoor area when the weather is nice. Indoor area warms the soul on a cold winters day. There is a line up most days but it is very worth it!

Hidden Pearl of Cherbourg! Simplicity makes great taste: Regional products, great concept! Best pommes-aux-four I ever had. They come with 1 out of three cold/three warm toppings for only 7.5 or 9.5 euro incl. drink and desert (cheesecake!). Very friendly owner, of great help to point out all the great places in and around Cherbourg. Nice touch: les hesperides (brand of the chairs) guard the apple garden.

A must visit if you are in town. Awesome friendly owner and best cheesecake you can find. Do not miss it.

Excuisit food and service at this family run eatery, Derek is an absolute gentleman and a credit to Cherbourg. Perfectly cooked potatoes and delicious home made locally sourced toppings and cheesecakes. First time visiting Cherbourg, will definitely return to the Apple Garden Cafe.
