St. Venant Robecq Road Military Cemetery

I have a relative buried in this cemetery. I had the privilege of visiting his grave on the 9 August 2018 which was the centenary of his death. Having served in the British Army (The Buffs - East kent Regiment) since 1914 he died in the last great offensive of the war on 9 August 1918 aged 29.
His name is Stanley Mussared and his grave is in the second row and is the second grave on the right (grave reference IV.C.24).
He is also remembered on the memorial in his home town of Margate in Kent UK. Gone but not forgotten...

I came across this cemetery quite by accident while walking from St. Venant to Robecq and felt compelled to stop and investigate. There is an informative plaque and a seating area with a visitors book in a wall unit. It is beautifully maintained. Well worth a visit.

This is one of the many humbling Commonwealth cemeteries in the area relating to the first World War. It really brings two point the ages of most of the Dead the amount of loss involved and the sacrifices for a war that most in America have forgotten
