Stella & Rose's Books

I have been seeking this book, like J. R. Hartley sought his own. (Some wag actually published the fictional book after the Yellow Pages advert was run!) Anyway, I only recently had the guidance to find WHICH Pertwee it was... Roland, Jon's dad! A hero of movies and media. Books and screenplays and finally... some boys' books. I publish a magazine about catapults and could only vaguely recall the original as a post script article in a book a bit like BB's Brendon Chase. Anyway... Stella & Rose had the bibliophile delight of a first edition and... THEY CALLED ME BACK HAVING LOOKED WITHIN THE BOOK FOR ME!! Yes, I was shouty-happy that after a lifetime of wondering, I suddenly KNEW...and of course, could buy it at a discount in their sale! Absolutely awesome book sellers who listened to my blithering delight and gave me the full kid-glove personal attention job sale rather than making me go use their perfectly good and good-looking website.

A beautiful little bookshop with many rare books.. seemed rather Conservative with some of the selection and no prices on many of the books. I very much liked that most of the books had plastic sleeves on them to protect their integrity and the whole place smelled like an old library which for a book lover like me was a treat to say the least

Great bookshop that you can spend ages walking around looking at the huge variety of secondhand books.

Amazing bookshop, beautiful selection of children's books and special editions. I absolutely loved the shop. A true gem!

This bookshop is the perfect place to get lost for an hour or three.

I found some real treasures for everyone in the family from my nephew to my Mum.

A unique books store, more museum than store - well worth a cisit

I recently sold a small collection of rare transport books to Stella and Rose's Books. Dealt with a lady called Sonia who was very professional and made the whole process extremely smooth from start to finish. The price offered was good and the transaction very straightforward. I was paid for my books within a few hours of Sonia receiving them. If you have quality books to sell, deal with these people. Highly recommended!

Purchased a book from the online store - it was packaged solidly, presentably, and arrived with a protective cover which allowed me to jump straight into it. Stella & Rose’s Books - couldn’t recommend more!

A perfect treasure trove of old books - you can find what you're looking for.

I was looking for an out-of-print edition of the Wind in the Willows (full colour illustrations by EM Shephard). I got it at a very fair price from Stella & Rose's.
The book was exactly in the condition they had described and there was full transparency right from the start of the booking process. The book arrived ahead of schedule (despite the nation-wide lockdown).
I wholeheartedly recommend Stella & Rose and look forward to purchasing other rare books from them.
