We had a wonderful stay at Ty Llew with our son and his friend who were taking part in the downhill race close by. Karen and Rob are such kind people and they really go out of their way make you feel welcome & comfortable. The beds were super comfortable and our evening meals were fabulous. Thank you both for making our stay very enjoyable.

A basic accommodation but with good beds clean rooms, plentiful well cooked home made food and great kind folk. They really can't do enough for you. Amazing menu for such a small hotel. First rate breakfast.
Great value for money.

I had the pleasure of staying at 'The Golden Lion' on the sixth day of my fourteen day hike of 'Offas Dyke'. A very friendly couple of hosts who provided a very comfortable on suite room, an excellent home cooked evening meal accompanied by some classic rock and progressive music, what could be better. No problem with an early breakfast and only a few hundred metres from a convenience store. Can highly recommend.

A very pleasant hotel, lovely welcome from Karen and Rob. Very clean and tidy rooms, comfortable bed. Food was exceptional especially our evening meals, having had starter and main. Enjoyable stay.

The Golden Lion Hotel is no longer on the busy main road which passed through Four Crosses town, because a by pass has been constructed, therefore the hotel is in a quiet part of the town where plenty of parking is available.

We stayed here 2 years ago while walking Offa's dyke path, the position of the hotel was great because it is directly on Offa's dyke path. Very nice and big rooms and both dinner and breakfast were amazing, very lovely food. However, we arrived an hour before the hotel was opened (it is closed during the day), the weather wasn't that great and after walking with backpacks from Montgomery, we could use a bit of rest. So, we decided to ask if it was possible to check in early or stay in the bar. This wasn't really possible, but in the end the hosts let us into our rooms and told us to stay there until the hotel was opened. This felt not very welcome, but after the hotel was opened the time, we had there was great.

So, my advice to every one walking Offa's dyke path, stay here, but are after opening time. Take your time find and nice pub on the way to stay and have a good dinner here.
