The California Hotel

Found by chance. Booked a break for myself and 4 others, was pleasantly greeted and key handed over (we booked to stay in the static situated behind hotel.

It was clean and some nice touches with the tea coffee biscuits etc. Lovely toiletries left in the bathroom.

Comfy lounge area. Great as a base for your adventures.

The only thing was not keen on was it has bushes behind and at side and as it was windy they kept rattling on sides. But thats my problem. Would definately use again. Thank you.

Lovely place to stay. Rooms where nice and the shower was amazing. Room service everyday keeping beds tidy and room. Tea coffee topped up everyday with a nice complimentary biscuit. Food wasn't being served as I stayed out of season but looks amazing in the photos. Close to the beach and other amenities ie shops and restaurants.

I have visited this place quite a few times over 50 years so from being on holiday in a push chair. This is the first time I've stayed along with my misses and 6 year old daughter.
I've seen reviews over noise issues but bear in mind this a old coach house style hotel so you would expect to hear a little noise but this stops around 9. Having our child with us this didn't bother us in the slightest . The rooms are are a lovely and spotless. Lovely sized bathroom with shower and a bath. Beds are really comfortable. Breakfast is amazing loved it . I would definitely stay again manager and staff are all friendly and helpful. Had a great weekend in all thank you all

Stayed this weekend as we were racing at the circuit. Great service far better than Travel Lodge or Premier Inn. Nice clean rooms, great cooked breakfast and they do like the British. Highly recommend. Lovely and quiet too Only 6 minutes to the beach.

The room was clean ,great shower and comfortable bed , good little pub and enjoyed my vegan burger ordered at the bar
The breakfast was also very tasty
I found all the staff to be friendly and helpful
It's in a good location only a few minutes from beaches and places of interest
I wouldn't hesitate in staying again

Great local pub ,still has authentic feel of a local public house, no glitz! nice and simple. Great welcome by bar staff ,good selection of beers and spirits. As we were holiday makers visiting it was great to meet local people and good have a good chat .

This is a straight forward no nonsense pub. I went there with friends and family having made our way there through the local farmer's fields from the local campsite. The beer at the end of the walk was cracking! The food wasn't on though as it was after six so we brought in pizzas.

A nice little pub, locals really welcoming and chatty, very dog friendly and the food was lovely, had a lovely late afternoon, evening watching the football and enjoying a nice cold pint. The ladies toilets were clean and elegant, always tell a good pub by the toilets my Nan always says

We was over on Anglesey for the weekend & visited The California for a few drinks with friends. The atmosphere was excellent, fantastic table service & nothing was too much trouble. I'm diabetic & needed a sugary drink. The other customers let my partner jump the queue & the bar staff helped out without hesitation. We'll definitely be back & soon hopefully. Thank you ☺

The Cali burger is the best burger I've had in awhile, so delicious and fresh. The drinks are a good price. Everyone was friendly in there. Definitely would go back and get that burger when we visit again!

Would stay again clean and tidy pity they don't sell food any more but was nice

We have stayed 4 nights. Staff 1st rate.
We had the breakfast and I would highly recommend it. Unfortunately due to covid no evening meals offered. The rooms are cleaned daily and are nice. The TV's have netflix and you tube which is good for the kids.

Comfortable and friendly... pity about no evening food available and if you're over 6ft let them know (low beams 🙄) but well worth the money 👍

Lovely helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms. The beds are amazing, it was like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfast was lovely as was the waitress. Hot food and cooked just right. Cannot fault the place. We will be returning.

Lovely pub and great value for money! And the place was spotless with amazing cumfy beds! Can be a little noisy, but I would accept this sleeping above a pub, but complete silence after closing time! I would definitely stay again!!!

No food served here but nice touch with the several pods (sheds with no fronts ) Good choice of Beers .

Went in for a meal while staying in a cottage nearby. The food was really good at very competitive prices. Staff very friendly and the service was efficient. If you're in the area it's well worth eating here.

Food was very nice, my husband had the steak pie it was very good indeed lots of meat and we were both full, highly recommended

Very nice Sunday afternoon. Friendly and busy local with local prices. Also have Pernod 👍.

Just had a delicious Sunday dinner, roast beef and all the trimmings followed by appke pie and custard. Fabulous food and great service, friendly staff 😀 thank you!
