Red India - Uppingham

Very welcoming and attentive staff. Please note that no alcohol is sold but you may bring your own. Also note that it is cash only, no credit cards accepted. Huge range of dishes on the menu. Our chosen dishes were authentic Indian meals not adapted to European tastes. The pork and chicken was beautifully tender and delicious. It was odd that on one side we had a well behaved mature hen party (with alcohol) and behind us was a group of students from the famous Uppingham public school equally well behaved.

We have been coming here for about a year and I have to say it’s a fantastic Indian when they get it right. The chicken tikka masala is a little bland but if you ask for Madras hot it is PERFECT.

We always take away and generally the time they say it’s ready, it’s generally ready. Plus they occasionally give us a few freebies (I think it’s because we order the same thing every time haha!) think they are trying to broaden our horizons.

It’s cash only, staff are nice, it’s a bit pricey but don’t mind when it’s good!

I have recently had a couple of takeaway meals from here which were both very tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful. Chicken was very fresh and cooked perfectly. Not eaten in yet but plan to.

Lovely restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food in generous portions. It's BYOB as they don't have a drinks licence and cash only. The nearest free ATM is at the One Stop which is a shop about 100m away - well worth the trip to the cash point!

Very quiet the night we visited but was great time with a group of friends.

Among the best Indian food we have ever eaten. First impression was how light, airy and clean it looked. Abdul greeted us with a huge smile, the service was superb, food piping hot, portions generous enough to take home enough for next day. We will certainly visit again next time we are in the area.

Consistently excellent. Interesting and tasty menu presented by warm and engaging staff. The Grahams Goan green curry is a must.
Thoroughly recommended.

My Sister and I had a first rate meal. Tasty, hot, and quick service. The staff are excellent. They will adjust how much chilli you want to your taste.
An important 2 notes; firstly they will only accept cash, the nearest available A T M is 10 minutes walk away in the market place, secondly they do not serve any form of alcohol, only soft drinks. If you wish to have a beer or wine etc. with you meal you must bring your own.
I would definitely go back again.

Really great curry.
1) Its cash only, but there is a cash machine in onestop.
2)Its BYO so bring alcoholic drinks with you. We had lager from onestop, someone else had fizz and someone else brought a bottle of wine.
3) Great curry, you won't be disappointed. Meat and vegetarian dishes.
4) Great staff that served you when your ready.
5) They don't have music, so we just had ours on quietly

Good food and service. No alcohol licence but very happy if you bring your own including drinks from the pub next door. Excellent meal and not overly busy. Open when others are closed.

This restaurant and take-away are getting better every year. Nice and friendly staff, quick turnaround and absolutely naughty meals. I should note the veggie options are on par with the meat treats - sassy work :)

No licence got alcohol, cash only. Take cash and your own booze and you will eat the best Indian food this side of I don't know where

Although not at the cheap end of the scale, the food is fantastic, the service is decent, and you don't feel rushed. Last night was my first visit, and it won't be my last. No license to serve alcohol, so take your own. Also, cash only, so visit the ATM before you go.

Amazing. The food was really fantastic. The service was awesome. I must say I tried a variety of dishes and they were all very tasty and cooked with dedication. One of the best places in Uppingham, its a MUST visit.

Had an excellent meal here for 5 on gift vouchers - a great present. Excellent value. Was very surprised to discover that they very rarely get tips. Why is that?

Fantastic and certainly the best Indian food I have ever tasted, staff super friendly and attentive to your every need with a chilled atmosphere.
We will be back and definitely recommend!
