Fantastic experience!

I went with a group of 14 for a stag do and everyone was talking about how much fun they had for the rest of the weekend.

When we arrived the front desk staff were friendly and joined in with our jokes while quickly signing us in.

We were able to watch others going down the rapids from the viewing area while we waited for our timeslot which was helpful for the few of us who were a little nervous as it let them know what to expect.

When it was time to start we were given our wetsuits and split into 3 rafts along with the instructors Carl, Alex and Iain. Shout out to Alex, who was steering my raft. He was clear with his instructions and making sure we worked as a team while going down the rapids and then having a laugh and pointing out interesting things about the centre in the calmer moments. I can't comment on specifics for Carl or Iain as they were in  the other rafts but everyone in our group was very complimentary about them too.

The rapids themselves seem to allow for various levels of difficulty depending on the placement and direction of the raft meaning that even though we went down the same course a number of times, we were able to start slow and then really get into it by the end. The course ends on a large area of still water before taking the rafts up a large conveyor belt to the top again.

Being a stag do, we loved that once we had all had a few runs under our belts and were paddling in the calm water, the instructors gave us the challenge to board the other rafts and push each other into the water to make sure no-one left dry.

We did have a few people fall from the rafts during the rapids but they didn't feel unsafe at any point. One of them just lay on his back and enjoyed the ride down the rapids.

Great day out. Can't recommend enough!

Attended a stand-up paddleboarding taster session at the centre. All the equipment was provided with decent changing rooms (a pound coin required for the locker) to get into the wetsuits.

The instructor was very clear and the every task moved skills forward a little, with an appropriate amount of information given at each step. The session took place in calm waters and a supportive environment was created by the instructor.

Would definitely attend another activity at the centre - also fun to watch the white water rafts and kayaks making their way down the rapids

Absolutely brilliant experience. I've got one daughter who want to tone up and another daughter who wants to develop strength in her shoulders.
The kayaking (for £10!! With a 1.5 hour experience) was the best thing money could by to get outdoors and exercise.
I think this is going to be a regular thing. Brilliant, friendly instructor brought a lot of fun to the experience such as challenging up to stand up on the kayaks / swap over kayaks without falling in.

Absolutely brilliant, kids loved it! We went for a body boarding session on the Flow Wave in half term and it was fab. Instructors and staff were friendly and helpful, session itself was fantastic fun! Facilities are well maintained, clean. Easy to park and get to. Would definitely do again and recommend to other!

I tried the paddle boarding for the first time, and I loved it. Our instructor, Kim, was brilliant. The atmosphere was really relaxed and was all about you making the most of the session. We were lucky to get good weather on the day, just to top off the experience.

After much trepidation and nagging from my nine year old son to visit Cardiff White Water, I finally gave in and booked the Wave Rider. The instructor taking the group was called Cat! She was absolutely incredible!! When the water was turned on, my son almost backed out of doing it but Cat was so friendly, professional, funny and she instantly put him at ease! My son was a fair bit younger and lighter than the others in the group, however that didn't phase him. After a few tries of getting used to it, she introduced some tricks and they looked great fun! Cat was extremely down to earth and really was a fantastic instructor! We will be back soon! A huge shout out and thank you to the wonderful Cat! 😊

Very fun day here for my birthday
This place is even fun on a rainy day
The instructor was lovely and fun.. chatty and funny too.

Reasonable prices
Extremely fun
Lovely waiting area and viewing from upstairs cafe.

Only critic I can make is the changing rooms absolutely STINK of urine
The wet suits are wet and smelly.. ripped in areas too but okay for a one off I guess
The shoes are smelly too. Full of water. Not very nice to wear but shut up and put up cause that's all soon forgotten when you head out onto your raft.

Changing rooms do need a good Bleach and disinfectant 3 times a day though

Would also be good if there were cameras placed around the course that took images just like theme parks do..
and then a room you could go in to hunt down your pictures select them to print off.. that would be a really good idea as many would pay for that if not you need someone who isnt participating to take some shots of you doing it and it's pretty boring for that person.

In all we all thoroughly enjoyed every second it was a laugh and can't wait to come again even with the smelly changing rooms lol

Great experience doing the white water rafting. Surprising how much of a workout you get paddling around. The drops were great and our guide/coxswain "Dan" was very approachable and friendly. His skill in getting the most out of the course, getting everyone soaked was brilliant. Top attraction

Last month, a group of 5 of us went to Whitewater Rafting for the 2 hour stand up paddleboarding. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and has drawn me to love the sport of SUPing (Stand Up Paddleboarding), which my friends and I all agreed became “addictive” after this session.

The instructor we had was incredibly friendly and especially patient. He gave us the right amount of freedom in the large pool to the side of the building, but at the same time was more than happy to help anyone who was struggling without judgment or criticism and made frequent offers to do so.

The sport itself was initially like trying to get a pig to fly, however after the first hour it become a lot easier and most of the session group was able to stand up on their boards, even if they fell off shortly after.

In my opinion, I definitely recommend this to anyone who is confident and comfortable with and loves the water because the upper end was relatively deep (a 5'3 person stood no chance of touching the floor!) but the whole experience is something I’m so, so glad I did, despite the nerves felt, and am definitely going to continue. For anyone who is looking to get into water sports, it also seems a good stepping stone for aspiring surfers as it familiarises you with the feeling of being on a board and the necessary balance which I most definitely lack right now 😆 Don’t hesitate to SUP with Whitewater Rafting!

Great fun- the instructors know how to have a laugh but also keep the raft safe and upright (unless you want to risk it!)

Really good value for what you get. The conveyor belt back to the top saves so much faff. The rafts are probably the only downside as a kayaker.

Took the family to the centre for indoor wave experience. Excellent service throughout and special thanks to Kat, our instructor, who provided brilliant tips and advice. Learning curve to ride the indoor wave on a body board was quick and we were doing tricks and flips in no time.
