Miller & Carter Cardiff Thornhill

Our waitress Megan looked after 21 of us! 3 tables! She moved one table to be closer as originally one was set up too far from the others!
The food was delicious, all served hot and steaks cooked to perfection.
2 of our party were vegan, and we were told there were no plant based burgers left , but thankfully they managed to find 8!
I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with my family, and Miller and Carter didn't let us down. 6 free glasses of prosecco with the email I was sent and a lovely slate Happy Birthday Board at the end was a lovely surprise x

The service was relaxed, friendly, professional and efficient without feeling rushed even during a busy dinner service. The food is delicious. I had the 10oz Black Angus Ribeye steak cooked medium rare and it was perfect. I didn’t need to use the supplied steak knife as the steak wasn’t tough and melted in the mouth. I recommend the beef dripping steak sauce. The kids meals are also excellent as they don’t serve the usual kids menu beige food, kids can actually get a steak of their own, cooked to their liking with tasty starters and desserts too.

If you like good, high-quality and perfectly prepared steak, then you have come to the right place. The ambience, the service and especially the food are absolutely first class. The Sweet & Smoky King Prawns and Sticky Chipotle Chicken starters were excellent and the perfect introduction to a great steak main course. The 50 day aged Sirloin and the 30 day aged Ribeye was cooked to perfection, tender and an incredible pleasure to enjoy. The wine list leaves nothing to be desired and offers something for every taste. This restaurant fulfilled all our wishes. It was a wonderful experience and I can only recommend it to everyone without reservation. Many thanks to Tracy for the amazing Service and to Rhys for the incredible grilling skills.

First time here. Everything was really good about the evening. Booked for a Friday night and it was busy as expected, but we were seated and served quickly. Food arrived in an acceptable time and the presentation and steak itself was delicious.
Not much else to add, loved it!

Evan served my partner & I tonight, he provided excellent service and made adjustments for myself as I am a fussy eater. Excellent and fast service. Food out of this world. Already can’t wait for another excuse to book a table!

A wonderful visit, greeted by friendly staff in a clean, luxurious and spacious restaurant. The food here was served in a very acceptable time even though the establishment was almost full to capacity. A wide selection of drinks are available at the bar while you wait for your table. The food is of exceptional quality, good portions and was still hot on arrival to the table. This is by far one of the best out-of-town restaurants in the area. It's advisable to book to minimise your wait for a table. Well done to all that work here, I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommended.

Absolutely stunning plate of food. I had the buffalo chicken wings for my starter and then the 20oz t-bone and the banoffee pie . Cannot fault the food, gorgeous. It is getting expensive eating at miller and carter these days tho with it nearly costing £41 for the 20oz t-bone nowadays 🙈 , although people were piling through the doors when i was there 🤷‍♂. I remember the t-bone being around £21.95 and 16oz/18oz porterhouse which was on the menu at that time which was around £18.95 in 2010ish. I always remember the prices 😌 unfortunately its literally doubled in price since back then, just hope they don't go so high people will simply stop visiting 😑Overall tho its still my fav restaurant 😋

I was served by Evan, managed by Danielle. I have previously been disheartened by eating out in North Cardiff and I took a gamble at Miller and Carter in Thronhill. I was not disappointed. The food was impeccable but the social catering was done by Evan and he made our evening. What a guy, h looked after us and made for a great night out. Danielle was a friendly manager and was happy to assist in our detailed menu enquiries. We will be returning! What a credit to hospitality! This place is not a waste of money!!!!

The service was amazing (as usual) and our steak expert Evan was extremely helpful with our selection of cocktails for the evening. The food was delicious as ever as Dylan, the grill chef, cooked our steak perfectly. Great food and staff, I would definitely recommend Miller and Carter.

Having not dined out for some time (pre COVID) for various reasons it was a great surprise to be able to lunch out with the wife, daughter and great grandson. We ordered different size meals. This is primarily a Streak house but has a few children's choices on the menu. I only went for a Steak burger, my wife,a Chicken burger, daughter a glazed chicken,son in law a Steak and a small chicken dinner for the great grandson. I must say that I have never had a burger like this before, with a chopped up steak at the bottom, pulled beef, cheese and tomato plus an onion mountain on top. Served with a side of fries and beef dripping sauce. Likewise my wife's burger was chicken breast with maple sauce bacon and garnish. Served with a sauce and fries. The Steaks were cooked exactly as asked. The service was outstanding, my wife is not very mobile and they went out of their way to find suitable seating for us all, including a high chair for our great grandson. We took a while to decide what we wanted but we were always met with a smile and reassuring waitress who seemed happy to wait. The food tasted as good as it looked. The prices were higher than I remembered, but my daughter who eats out regularly thought they were fine. Now for logistics, 2 sets of toilets with disabled facilities, excellent standards. Plenty of standard parking, with 4/5 disabled spaces near the entrance. Probably best to book at the normal busy periods(can book online, type in the name to get their website) we went for a late lunch so not so busy. Food served all day. If I feel like a treat I will definitely go there again. Happy eating.

Came for dinner with the wife and had a lovely meal. Our sever was excellent and made sure that we had a great meal. Would definitely recommend the sharing desert platter as it satisfies all you cravings!

Works night out , firstly speaking to Danielle to organise a last minute night out she was very helpful and sorted out a table of 12 . On arrival our tables were ready and Leanne showed us to our table. Though out the evening Leanne was very attentive. All of our meals were great and the drinks were too . My husband was so very impressed. He last went to Miller and Carter over 10 yrs ago. Was not impressed at all!!
However, our dear friends booked Thornhill M&C for an evening out, so he reluctantly agreed to grin and bare it. Well from the moment we arrived...WOW what a difference. The restaurant has such a nice ambience about it. So we were very pleasantly surprised. We ordered the Butchers Block on the recommendation of our friends, and then the food arrived at the table. Well I don't really know how to describe the food other than to say
AMAZING...!!!! The steak was some of the best we've ever had. The whole meal was 11/10. Lol
The staff were all so nice, friendly, but always professional.
So to end, it's now my husbands favourite place to eat. We've actually been numerous times now. Honestly, if you're looking for a restaurant that has a wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food and the best staff...
