Ty Mynydd Lodge

What a truly wonderful hidden gem. Ty Mynydd Lodge is full of amazing character & features, plus it has a very unique and famous history.
The location is perfect for traveling in & around Cardiff as well as going further afield.
The rooms are perfect, the owners cannot do enough for you and the breakfasts are truly fantastic. What a find!!

Where do I started? I booked visa Booking.com and got the date wrong, Lisa was very responsive to my query and made booking another date easy.
We arrived within the area and couldn't find the lodge, so I called Lisa on the number provided and she was great with directions making it very easy to find.
Lisa greeted us and it was lovely meeting her, she is very welcoming. The room was lovely and clean. The bathroom was compact but did everything we needed it to do.
The information within the room was helpful, as it gave you suggestions on where to eat. It also included, taxi numbers too
My daughter and I had a great night sleep and had a great breakfast in the morning. There was more then enough to choose from. Fruit, cereals, yoghurt and even a cooked breakfast. There was even homemade jam, that's tasted really good. You couldn't of ask for more. We were very, very happy. We only stayed 1 night, but would be very happy to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Ty Mynydd Holiday home - which is a separate annex of the lodge with a little private garden area. We were very comfortable and were spoilt for choice with the included breakfast items. We loved the home made jam. Bed and sofa bed are comfortable, and bedding is lovely and soft.

Lisa is a brilliant host and we felt so welcome. It's really easy to get to from the m4 and the village is lovely.

Such a beautiful place to stay and even more so with the Christmas decorations greeting you on entry. My mum and I stayed in the twin bedroom,the mattress is the BEST I've ever slept on.
The hostess was really friendly and helpful. I am a vegetarian and this was easily accommodated at breakfast time.
The lodge is not easy to spot at night but I rang the hostess and she went to the roadside to wave at me so I knew where they were.
How amazing to find such a gem. If I'm ever in the area again this will be the first place I would stay again and again.

This is a seriously fantastic place to stay, Lisa treated us like family, one of our sons went there early in the morning straight after a night shift, Lisa only got up to cook him an early breakfast before he went to bed.
It has got to be one of the best places we have stayed in, beds were really comfortable, breakfast excellent, really clean, again Lisa goes above and beyond nothing is to much trouble. Ty Mynydd has that extra touch, Roald Dahl has lived there and it has that extra feel to the building. We went as a family my wife and I and two of our sons and their wives and we all agreed Lisa is outstanding, Ty Mynydd brilliant, if you want a place to stay in Cardiff this is it.

Stayed there last night after my Wedding, what a fantastic and beautiful place to stay! Me and my wife had a very warm welcome, our bedroom and bathroom was at a very high standard. Breakfast was also lovely! I would 100% recommend to anyone!

Great hosts. Lovely venue with satellite TV and wifi not too mention the abundance of snacks and drinks. Well deserved of their 9.8 rating. Super close to Cardiff and public transport to city center. We will definitely be back.

Lisa's welcome was so warm and genuine. She couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was amazing. Lisa happily went out of her way to provide gluten and dairy free options.

Lisa is a great host. Very genuine and accommodating. She replied to queries quickly and even offered to iron our shirts.

Stayed for 1 night and had nice breakfast in the morning. Around 15mins from the centre.

Will definitely return

Lovely stay, very comfy and easy to get to. I stayed in the lodge, not the main house.
The lodge is modern and all on one level.
The main house is full of character and very beautiful. Lisa keeps both perfectly.
Would recommend for a relaxing city break.

An excellent B&B. Minutes off of the M4 and easy to get into the city centre from here on the train a few minutes walk down the road.

An extremely warm welcome, lovely comfy room and superb breakfast. Would recommend this place to anyone.

If I need to stay in Cardiff again, it'll be here.

Lisa was AMAZING. She couldn't have been a better host if she tried! She came out to find us at 9pm at night and guided us into our parking spot and greeted us with a friendly face. Upon realising we would be leaving early the next morning for work, she packed a take away breakfast for us the night before so that we would not go hungry. She also came to the room with a bottle opener when I asked for one shortly after arriving. Her care and attention to detail was great. The room itself was so cosy and comfortable and we had a great night's sleep! Thanks so much guys x

A great B&B , the room we had was lovely, the owners are so helpful and friendly, going that extra mile which was greatly appreciated. Ideal location, a 10 minute stroll to the nearby train station , within 15 mins you are in Cardiff city centre. We will definitely be back.

Lisa is absolutely great! Due to the loss of my LUGGAGE I arrived at Midnight. Lisa was friendly and helped me a lot. The breakfast was very good and the bedroom en Suite was good too. It is tricky to find at night but it is worth struggling with the directions. ;-)

We stayed in the self catering anex next door. It was lovely. Perfect for 2 adults and 2 children. Small kitchen. Plenty of breakfast options included. Lovely hostess.

Lovely place and very welcoming. Breakfast is a delight with lots of choice. Only thing is wash hand basin is too small in the ensuite so I make a mess as I can't get my hands in to rise up.to my face when having a wash as the tap is in the way. But I suppose that's just me as I'm a mullock as my wife says. Can't recommend this place enough. A lovely welcome stay for any weary traveller. Thanks to Llion and Lisa

Superb location. Lisa and Llion were very welcoming, extremely helpful. The room was spotlessly clean with lots of little extras! Breakfast was great, lots of choice. I highly recommend this guest house.
