Lovely forest walk with sculpture trail. Can be hilly in parts but there is also a cafe in the woods where you can grab a nice hot drink so perfect for Autumn walks.

Lovely walk around Forest Fawr, did the circular walk from the car park around Castle Coch, passed a wooden sculpture trail and the 3 bears caves. Lots of people on this walk, lots of dogs not on a lead, they were running up to my reactive dog, just for people to be mindful. Will go again to do this walk but probably leave our dog home.

Great parking area though gets very busy on weekends with parking being free 7 days a week. Lots of dog walkers and families walking around this area along with mountain bikers.

Excellent walks here. So very peaceful and scenic. Such great surroundings. The woods were large and open spaced too. There are a variety of walks to be had here, including a sculpture walk. Ideal to take a picnic.

What an unexpected treat. Literally a stones throw from Castle Coch. Most delightful cafe, with great coffee and ice cream. Staff really lovely. Great for every season, with wood burners inside and out. Even has a beautiful peacock in the garden.
Great walks come straight off it, with stunning bluebells and loads of wild garlic, very pretty. Then return to finish off with ice cream. A perfect few hours. Kind of place to come and read your book in a quite time. Loved it.

Love walking my dog here, enclosed space, few other dog walkers and some great trails to follow. Only request would be for another dog poo bin further in on the trail.

There are some lovely walks through the first from this car park. The kids like the sculpture trail, but this time we also walked all the way to Castell coch. The car park is also free, and had quite a few parking spaces when we arrived at about 10 on Saturday morning

A great car park at the top of the hill. Drive carefully. Great walks with views over Cardiff.

I think these were working mines once upon a time not sure how far the three bears system goes but they can be accesed via a walk from the far side of castle coch however i drove out of the castle turned left and drove a short drive and the caves were a left turn as i parked the car i spoted wild garlic everywhere supposed to be realy healthy for you the caves are tricky to find but as you park your car you follow the trail and after a long walk you will see carvings of bears on your right the caves are near there worth a visit for sure

Had a wonderful walk through the sculpture trail with our grandaughter today. We had the best time. the only sad thing was the number of full dog poo bags on the trail and some dog poo that hadn't been picked up by the dog owners. Beautiful location with different trails for walking abilities 👍

Lovely place to visit in all seasons. I visit regularly to walk my dog and let him run free through the broadleaf tree woodlands. There are a few wood sculptures to admire too.

We love Fforest Fawr. It's best not to go at the weekend as the car park gets quite full, but it is a great place where the children and dogs crab charger about to their hearts content. The children (and the dogs) have fantastic games which gives grown ups time to chat.
The children also love 'discovering' the sculptures. I love being surrounded by trees, and then arriving at places with wonderful views.
I did wish there were dog poop bins though, but that's my only complaint.

It's a free car park with quick access to the popular forest walks, sometimes you have to get creative with finding a parking space but generally speaking you can normally find somewhere to park, and the surface is pretty level so isn't too jarring for your car.
