I was born in this area and over the years this shop has been owned and run by different people, including at one point the family of a girl I went to primary school with who were lovely. Unfortunately the people working there now are miserable and rude. There is one young guy who is nice, but the older guy with grey hair & glasses and the guy who wears a bindi are not and can be very passive aggressive. I’ve witnessed them making fun of other customers in an intimidating, non-jokey way, and getting another customer (who they seemed to be friendly with) to join in with them. I once walked in when the shop was empty and the guy with the bindi was stacking milk in the fridge. He let out a massive sigh because he was going to have to stop what he was doing, continued to stack milk for another 30 seconds and then slowly plodded over to serve me. I said I already had what I needed and left due to his behaviour which produced a massive eye roll from him. How is he surprised that a person didn’t want to buy something from him after his attitude?! It’s such bizarre behaviour to openly treat your regular customers like that. I was visiting 2-3 times a week / spending quite a bit of money in the shop (cigarettes, alcohol, groceries) and on the best visits I got civility and on the worst just downright rudeness. It’s a shame because the shop is open late, sells a good selection of items and it is the closest shop to our house- but I would rather walk down the road to Finchley or go to the petrol garage than spend my money there any more. I have worked in customer service jobs my whole life , so I have a high tolerance for rudeness and I am always polite to other service staff- this is how bad they are for me to boycott the shop.

DON'T USE THIS SHOP FOR PARCEL DELIVERIES -Despite having a tracking number & confirmation that my parcel had been delivered to the shop by the Hermes courier, the man in the shop refused to even look for my parcel as I couldn't give him a barcode. When I explained that there was no barcode for this Ebay purchase (just the tracking reference that I was giving him), all he could say was "I can't give you the package without a barcode". So, my item is still at the shop and I can't access it because the man offering a "service" (& presumably getting paid for it), doesn't have a clue how it works! Whatever you do - please don't risk parcel delivery with this place!
