The Islwyn Inn

Been meaning to visit The Islwyn Inn for far too long, finally we got there and what a great place it is. Their food is truly exceptional. A warm welcome and attentive staff made us feel right at home.

Food was a amazing, the beef was something else - literally melted in the mouth. Inn had a warm and cosy atmosphere with very friendly staff.

I'd definitely return here for food. There is no car park, but plenty of space on the roads surrounding the inn.

Great meal when ever we go! Really enjoyed Friday night World Cup rugby menu, beautiful food and plenty of it, every mouthful was delicious 😋. Wasn’t as busy as we expected it would be given it’s so busy on Sundays - definitely recommend a Fri/Sat night. Thanks to very hospitable staff! We’ll be back.

A warm welcome and attentive staff made us feel right at home. The menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each expertly crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Every bite a culinary delight, quite full after three generous courses then finished off with a fourth, the most amazing trifle dessert, fabulous, compliments to the chef.....a master of his craft. If you like your grub you will love The Islwyn Inn.

Can't praise this place enough. We held our wedding her on the 3rd September. Everything was made perfect by Nicola and the staff. We can't thank you enough

Just had Christmas lunch at the Islwyn Inn, it was superb, from booking for two with awkward dietary needs to the food which was excellent, the staff are all lovely and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. All of the party agreed now they know about the place they will be returning with family 😁 thank you for a lovely afternoon

Excellent service food was excellent not expensive fair price. Booked in advance as only taking bookings. Worth a visit. Recommend to all.

Great food as always. Couldn't fault it. The burgers were delicious as were the desserts. The Merlin Trifle was a delightful surprise and a big hit. Highly recommend The Islwyn Inn.

Intimate setting for a friday night dining experience. All the courses were delicious. From lamb cawl snd rarebit to colcanno eith beef in rich gravy. All superb. Thank you Rob. We shall be back

Superb food and service. Great choice of quality foods and drinks in a really cool/ quirky and modern bar and restaurant. Without doubt the best eating-out experience in the Blackwood area…theme nights and evening food are ideal for families/ groups or couples of all ages and the place has a really nice vibe! Sunday Dinners are also sensational….thank you!

I recently had wedding reception here and I couldn't have been happier! Staff are all so friendly and welcoming, food is always absolutely delicious, bar area is cosy and the entire environment is relaxing. Would recommend for any occasion, or even just a meal out.

Myself and my friends go there every Sunday. The food is fantastic I'm never disappointed. I have tried most of the speciality evenings and I would highly recommend these events A special dining experience. Great wine gin and drinks menu. The staff are fantastic nothing it to much trouble. The Friday and Saturday dipping pots in dexters cwtch are also a treat

Excellent Sunday dinners served here everytime, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are very polite and helpful. Yesterday was the french themed night and I have to say it was superb. Every course was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We are looking forward to return for future themed nights. 10/10.

Amazing food, service, drinks and atmosphere. Can’t fault it. Managed to give us super tasty food even though we didn’t book (recommend booking). Menus rotate so keeps it exciting. Best value for money! Highly RECOMMEND
