The Hooden Bar & Grill

Eaten in the pub twice over the past 2 months. Once on a Saturday Lunchtime and the second time on Sunday for their roasts. Both times the food has been delicious. We waited slightly longer for our food on the Sunday but luckily we were happy chatting amongst ourselves. And you have to talk to each other as there is no phone signal.
Very dog friendly also. Great pub and would be fab in the summer with their back garden.

Something for everyone and cooked well. It was busy so I recommend booking in advance .

Really liked the atmosphere here and I liked overall aesthetic of the business!
Personally I think it's good that there is a automatic fee for the waiter/waitress as it is more fair for them and I understand that not everyone has as much cash on them (as they used to). Only downside is the parking is rubbish and when we came back to the car, our car was blocked in so slight effort/shimmey to get out out! But we managed it in the end.
Overall I loved our experience here and the food that was recommended to us was lovely. (+ a refreshing cocktail 🍹) I would 1000% be back to eat here again. Ta x

We went to the Hooden tonight for a family dinner and OMG it didn’t disappoint in any way.
The staff where super friendly and helpful throughout our visit.
The food came out in good time and was absolutely delicious and we all left with very full bellies with only a starter and main.
The facilities where easily accessible,very clean and the whole place was family friendly.
Can’t recommend this place enough and we will definitely be returning.

Good food, friendly and fast service. We had the nachos, the beef burgers and the fish finger ciabatta (Though they were definitely fish goujons) and I ordered a side of chunky chips.

We were so impressed with the food! Chose this place as Google said it was dog friendly, and it definitely is!
We absolutely loved our meals! The chicken was so moist and full of flavour as was the lamb. Our waitress was lovely and we're looking forward to returning soon. No photos. We'd eaten our food before we even thought to take a picture!!

Had a great time here, portions were HUGE! I should not have had a starter as it meant I couldn't finish my main. Still had pudding though... There's a lovely garden in the back with a play area for kids. If we lived closer, this would be a regular.

Nice place, made a quick stop from the Eurotunnel, I had the pulled pork which was nice. Kids had chicken burger which she demolished and fish for the other one and the middle one had a hotdog. All and all a nice pub with nice people in a (as far as I could tell) small town next to the motorway.

Had a great three course meal here. Big starter, very tasty, and an enormous roast meal with all the trimmings. Service a little slow, but not worth deducting a star given the quality of the food. Mid-range on price, good for the portion size. Very polite staff. Would definitely recommend!

Two great evenings on the trot at the Hooden Smokehouse and Grill.

The team Alanna, Alex and Josh are always polite and friendly. They went above and beyond helping me surprise my partner for his birthday yesterday and have been fantastic again this evening.

The food is always incredible and keeps us coming back time and time again. Thank you all.

Always love a trip to the Hooden, the staff are always friendly and can’t do enough for you, food is tasty and priced fairly. We just wish it was closer!

So this place was nice to eat at. Dark inside hence being in the cellar, lovely large garden, food was spot on, kids meal are great on size, little on the expensive side but worth the money for something really nice to eat.

Ok the staff. Amazing, made sure everything was spot on. Be sure to book if you can and maybe not drive as the car park is a little small (for about 6 cars double parked) and on a one way street. There is also disabled access but would need some help still due to the depth of the incline.

Really liked this place, nice and cosy and the food was superb. Only criticism would be the heat. It was like an oven sitting next to the log fire.

We took little great grandchildren and they played happily in the gardens and secure swing and games areas.
It is a little hidden gem and well worth a visit.

Lovely place, visited for lunch midweek. There were only 2 other tables of people in there at the time. Nothing was too much, staff were friendly and chatty. Spoke through food options.

By chance I stumbled upon this hidden gem when visiting from London and enjoyed some of the best ribs I've had! Cooked to perfection and the accompaniments alongside it were incredible. I'm surprised there weren't more people there at noon, it certainly deserves more patronage and is a place I would reccomend to anyone.

What a delightful place. My family of 8 enjoyed a meal here today which was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. The prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious and freshly prepared.
Would certainly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a good meal in lovely surroundings
