Jacob's Ladder in the Peak District is a fantastic hiking destination! The trail is challenging but offers incredible rewards with stunning views of the countryside. The path is well-maintained, and the scenery is breathtaking, especially as you reach the summit of Kinder Scout. Ideal for avid hikers and nature enthusiasts. The fresh air, beautiful landscapes, and the sense of accomplishment at the top make it a must-visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the natural beauty of Derbyshire!

I made it to Jacob's ladder today. There is nothing we can not achieve if we put our minds to it. Thanks for the support of my hiking teammates' "footsteps of the North." The view up was amazing 👏 🤩 better experienced than told. The pub where we eat, the food was yummy, fresh homemade food. The train station was close to the pubs and car park.
You can travel from Stockport, Manchester, or Sheffield and back again to view these beautiful hills and enviros.

Worth a hike from Edale Car park. It takes about 1 and a half hours to get to the top of Jacobs Ladder. It's very steep in places beyond a point its hardly a ladder, Hiking sticks are recommended and good footwear. Avoid rainy weather as it gets slippery. The nearest toilet is Edale Car park. Best time to visit is early morning 8-9 am as the trail gets busy by Mid day.

In its simplicity an absolutely amazing walk. Can go with kids as it is a reasonably easy walk. If you are there go also to Kinder Scout.

Great for mountain Biking either up or down but ideally down !! It's a challenge both ways on a bike. However also a great for a walk with lovely views. Amazing location.

Came across Jacob's Ladder(ascend) while doing Kinder Scout Circular Walk, I have to admit this was the toughest one throughout the whole hike.
The snow made the climb more challenging. But once you get up, you will be rewarded with some amazing views.

Great views! Tricky on the ankle and steep but for regular hikers no problems here

Nice trail. A little bit challenging to climb but not too difficult. Done with wife and 10 and 8 year old daughter.

1st check point after walking for about 1 1/2 hour from Edale car park.

The trail will continue to Kinder Low, Kinder Scout, Grindslow Knoll and back to Edale car park. About 7 hours walk with lots of stops for enjoying the views.

Oh, this is a real beauty. Worth every effort, and I have to admit it was not easy, as I am not in shape anymore lol. Most of the path is well maintained, although some part of it is rocky, so need to be careful. If you are not in shape, but like to challenge yourself, this is the place. Once up the heel, you can choose different paths, depending on your destination. My offline map did not work (or I don't know how to use it lol), but with a bit of common sense, I arrived at Edale Moors. From there descending was a bit painful for my knees, but the whole hike was so rewarding that I forgot about the pain.
Planning to come back soon and get to kinder scout. Hoping for better weather next time

Great sights, easy to moderate walk depending on your experience and lots to see along the way. Remember the weather changes very rapidly though (especially from the car park) so don't get caught short... Take waterproofs and water for drinking!

The closest spot you can park is at Barber Booth car park, however space is limited, if you can't get parked there then there is a small amount of space underneath the bridge that you pass on the way. From there it's about a 2 mile walk, not easy with kids as it's hilly and uneven in some places. Once you reach the old packhorse bridge it's a lovely spot to stop for a while, play in the stream, have a picnic etc and prepare yourself for the steep climb up Jacob's Ladder itself. Again the steps are uneven in places and can be challenging for kids however the views from the top are more than worth it.

Beautiful place. We had a fabulous walk and can not wait to do it again, the initial ascent is quite steep but gets less so after a while and you can continue for a very long way so suits the time you have available. Views from the peak are much better than my camera skills!

What an amazing walk as someone that is only relatively fit I managed to walk this path with just one or two mini breaks. Ensure you take yourself a snack and some water to maintain hydration and have a map for navigation if you plan on treking around the plateau as it is large and it can be disorientating.

DEFINITELY worth the trip to capture the views of the Valley and the look over to Derbyshire and Manchester.

Amazing views worth the trek, we started from Edale car park and was about 2 hrs of steep and some flat walk to ladder. Enjoyed peace and views every step!

Beautiful place in the Peak District with lovely views. Started out from Edale train station and enjoyed a whole day of hiking. Definitely worth the trip, and you do not need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy it. Take it at your own pace and you’ll have a great time.

Stunning stunning stunning!!! Get your walking shoes on and go to Kinder Scout. It’s the most beautiful place to walk, the scenery is stunning and the path is brilliant under foot. A very good climb for anyone wanting to try a reasonable small mountain walk

Well worth the walk up up to Jacob's ladder as you get to it and see the little bridge and hear the water gushing you know it was worth it....but be warned it is a bit of a slog up if you ain't used to walking and the ladder is very uneven so use good footwear and take your time...I decided to come back down Jacob's ladder and again its very uneven (which isn't a bad thing as it adds to the walk I loved it)but it can be taxing on the legs and knees if you ain't used to walking on that terrain but I loved it and will be walking it again in near future .
