Borough Arms Hotel

I have stayed in the Borough Arms Hotel numerous times over the past 2 months due to working in the area.
My rooms have been spotless , the food above and beyond my expectations.
Mr Sheikh the owner and all the lovely staff have been so welcoming and accommodating, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.
I hope to return to Stoke in the near future and will most definitely book again with this hotel and highly recommend the whole experience as a hugely positive one and I stay in many hotels but rarely find that I feel the need to write a review . Thank you to all the staff and Assam

Attended this hotel for dinner this evening. I came with very low expectations and I was pleasantly shocked. The food was just delicious and the smoked salmon starter which was fabulous just gave me a bigger appetite to eat my lamb main course which was just amazing. I was gutted that I didn't have room to eat a sweet but maybe next time. This place really is a hidden gem regarding food, not somewhere where I'd ever even considered eating out until now. I'd definitely return for dinner anytime! Your food is awesome!!!

I took my mum to the hotel for our Mothers day meal, 3rd year running as mum and I enjoy the food so much. I can honestly say the hotel has the best chef in town. I will be booking for the breakfast and lunch as the menus looks most inviting. Gorgeous, very tasty, excellently presented and great value for the quality of food. The service provided is impeccable, the waitresses are so polite and attentive to your needs and the tables are laid beautifully with fresh white laundered linen. 5 star.... Keep up the good work everyone.... I look forward to returning very soon..... Definitely a must if you enjoy quality food and service.... 👌👍😁♥

When we walked in there was a lovely lady at the desk who was helpful and very polite Really nice and friendly staff and the rooms and the hotel was very clean,spotless and tidy. There was a very rude man and a rude woman who was horrible to the bar staff and to the manager complaining about other people that were there at a wedding party and they made up stuff up that didn’t even happen! At weddings things are going to get loud it’s a wedding!! but we hardly could hear anything from the wedding party and no one was loud at all only thing we could hear was the music but it wasn’t on late and it was nice and quiet This situation did not put me off the hotel/pub at all as they handled it so well I was so annoyed at the people for being so rude to such lovely and helpful people it is a lovely quiet pub/hotel they handled the situation very well those People that were rude should be ashamed and embarrassed and to Jess,rob,cameron,the manager jen and the rest of the staff thank you for making our stay very lovely we will definitely come back! We had good conversations with the staff members and a good laugh too! Bed was comfortable and clean also

We booked the hotel for my mum funeral. The owner was amazing he looked after us all to make the sad day easier for us. The service he and his staff provided for us was above and beyond. The food was lovely. I highly recommend this place just for the service and the excellent customer service.

Popped in for a quick lunch following a recommendation from a friend.
Well thought out compact menu (changes monthly) offering nicely prepared meals with quality produce. Great knowledgeable service from all staff we dealt with during our early lunch time visit. Free small car park and communal areas spotlessly clean. Thanks

We had 22 people for dinner at the restaurant, and the food and service were both excellent.
Everyone was incredibly kind, accommodating, and pleasant.

With a large group, we did not feel stressed or rushed.
Excellent food, portion size, and quality. very tasty.

Always a pleasure to come here. Visited today with my daughter, my mum, my nan and my mother in law. Food was delicious, staff welcoming and attentive and prices are amazing. You are always looked after at the borough arms and not had a bad meal yet. All 5 of us thoroughly enjoyed our time there today. Thank you to all the staff.

Clean, comfortable room, friendly and obliging staff. Really good value for money. Happy to reccomend to anyone looking for good, reasonably priced accommodation, really like the annex rooms.

We went for lunch in the Ostler Restaurant. The food was amazing, great choice and good quality. The team that served us were so attentive and made us feel really special - we enjoyed it so much that we are already looking to return.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff a pleasure to dine there. It's just a great shame you are not dog friendly, which means I do not visit more often.

Booked last minute directly for a one night stay in the annexe arriving early hours of the morning. Reservation process was handled promptly, professionally with ease. On arrival received surprise upgrade to an exceptional room which was immensely appreciated. Warm, comfortable, spacious with a fantastic shower and the all important cuppa for the morning. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

It was absolutely great stay here the staff was so helpful and polite and friendly cant fault hotel in any way

Came for a couple of nights for my graduation. Cheaper than the Travelodge and with free WiFi. Lovely room. Very helpful and friendly staff; the chap on the desk helped me to find the back entrance when I came back late one night. Will definitely return when I am back in the area. Thoroughly impressed.

Was in a pickle at half 4 in the morning when my key broke and I couldn’t get into my flat. No locksmiths available for hours! Called this place and was able to book in last minute so I wasn’t sleeping on my doorstep for the night! Night staff / security was the nicest guy and I really appreciate his help. 5 stars!!!

I hired a function room for my father's funeral reception. Arranged all with Jennifer who was professional and prompt with all correspondence. Mr Sheik was very kind also and knew my father (who dined at the hotel often) personally and shared lovely memories with me.
Buffet Lunch - served in adjoining room. Freshly made and good variety of sandwiches with homemade chips, chicken goujons, scones jam and cream.
Staff - Nothing was too much trouble for Mr Sheikh and his team.
Very pleased with the way it was organised, it all went smoothly on the day, reasonable priced and guests all said how lovely it was. Thank you again. Rachel

We hired out the King Room for a team building workshop. We were happy for the following reasons:
Location - was easily accessible via local motorway network with parking.
The room - Spacious, light & airy, no background noise.
Lunch - served in adjoining room. Freshly made good variety of sandwiches with homemade chips (feedback from delegates was that the quality of food was better than many other previous functions attended elsewhere).
Staff - Nothing was too much trouble for Mr Sheikh and his team. I was extremely impressed with how they were prepared to go the extra mile.
I will definitely be booking team events with them again.

Stayed here many, many times over the last two years, welcoming and friendly, staff very pleasant and helpful, excellent breakfasts, food in Restaurant and Bar very good, location perfect for Newcastle Night Life, overall excellent value for money.

Update 15/03/2024 A BIG Thank you to Alleem, Jennifer and the wonderful wedding team, that made my daughter's wedding celebration on 24/02/2024 a FAB night to remember, many, many thanks, thanks also to all the lovely people that turned up and made it the magic night, that it was!

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. I have travelled many countries across multiple continents and been to a range of restaurants and this has got to be one of the best.

We initially booked it through a Groupon deal for an evening meal and it turned out to be a real hidden gem.

Every course was exceptional, using fresh ingrediants and cooked to perfection, executed perfectly with lovely presentation.

The staff were very professional and attentive too, without being overbearing. They were also very friendly and happy to help with anything we asked.

I would HIGHLY recommend visiting, especially if you are in and around Staffordshire. We will definitely be returning in the future as not only was the whole experience amazing, but the price was very, very reasonable.
