My husband has had several scans and MRI’s At Ystrad Mynach Hospital, 3 yesterday, we want to share our experience because it was second to none. Waiting times were accurate and we can’t thank the staff involved with taking care of my husband enough. They were extremely professional, caring, kind, polite and explained in great detail what would happen with all the diagnostic tests he was receiving.

Fantastic hospital! Really clean and modern, easy to get around and sign posted well. It has a coffee shop on the ground floor which is lovely to stop in while your waiting. Great car park, shorter waiting times that other hospitals in the area and last but not least fantastic staff, every procedure I’ve had to have in here has unfortunately been unpleasant and I don’t think I’d have got through the appointments if it wasn’t for the staff here! Truly worth their weight in gold! Highly recommend to come here if you get the choice, thanks all.

Lovely hospital, very modern and very clean.

Friendly staff who were helpful and caring. I had a very painful abscess in my finger drained this morning, the nurse was extremely sympathetic and frequently asked he how I was doing during the procedure.

From the moment I arrived to the moment I began my drive home was barely over an hour, I'm impressed!

The hospital has quite a big car park and is undergoing works at the moment.
There is also a car park over the other side of the road.
The hydrotherapy pool unit is great. Receptionist is very helpful and kind. The ladies doing hydrotherapy are great, they don’t judge you they treat you with great care and attention.
There are private changing rooms and shower available.
The waiting area is quite comfortable. The pool itself is quite hot and it gets quite humid so make sure you have drinks with you.
Right opposite the restaurant so you can go there after your session and relax with a cold drink.

I had a bad fall at home due to existing joint damage and weakness to right foot and awaiting a fusion and plate operation. I attended the minor injuries unit due to severe pain and swelling to my already damaged foot. I was seen quickly and assessed then x rays taken. From start to finish, it took and hour and a half. Staff were friendly and extremely professional. Its reassuring to have a minor injuries unit to avoid going to hospitals like The Grange where waiting times are horrendous and poor staff are overstretched. Highly recommend Ystrad minor injuries for all medical needs stated on their website. Only thing about this hospital is the parking but it's the same at every hospital. Thank you to all the medical staff for looking after me so quickly and efficiently.

We had a great experience with the nurse Caroline in MAU today (Sunday) . She went out of her way to help my mother when we attended this weekend and my mother found the whole process of taking bloods painless. We are extremely grateful.

I need two ratings for this review;
Medical professionalism 5*, in and out for an out patient"s appointment in less than 15 minutes, everything fully explained and mind put at rest!
Then we come to that information board in the main entrance, if you have never visited the place before, never, under any circumstances, waste valuable moments of your life trying to decipher it, ignore it and go straight to the glass fronted office and ask "where is so and so"?
I had an appointment in dermatology, dermatology is part of the out patients dept and doesn't exist in relation to the info board, but you are not told this, "report to dermatology" I was informed, totally frustrated!
Can I rate it minus 1*?
Besides this, can't fault the medical staff!

Incredibly clean hospital, good facilities and very warm, professional staff providing a brilliant service. Having just returned from the Medical Assessment Unit today I would like to say a big thank you to Megan the general practitioner, Neil the nurse and Debbie the nursing assistant who dealt with me today in the unit. All three staff members were professional and approachable! Thank you for your service, especially during such difficult time.

In and out of minor accident unit in less than 30 minutes! Astounding! Thank you so much to Imelda, Tirage Nurse, who took care of my daughter's heavily infected and swollen ear piercing within Triage. We had been failed by our GP surgery but Imelda acted swiftly and with professionalism to remove the foreign object. It's all too easy to knock the over stretched and over stressed NHS service, I had to share our good experience. Thank you once again!

I have recently attended the hospital in Ystrad Mynach for a full hysterectomy and was admitted to ward 2:3. I have to say that every single member of staff on that ward were absolutely amazing. They showed me kindness, compassion and courtesy and I was made to feel that they really cared about me and my well being. The hospital is spotlessly clean and well organised. Other hospitals and staff could
Learn so much from that ward. I also want to give massive praise to Dr Rosemary Goddard who did my operation. She came to see me before the operation and several times after too and I am eternally grateful for her expertise and knowledge. There is a great deal going wrong in our NHS but the staff on ward 2:3 restored some of my faith in the health system and I hope that others can follow in their footsteps .

What a wonderful hospital! My husband went in for a minor operation last week and was treated as if he was the only patient there. From the moment we entered the hospital the staff was amazing nothing was too much trouble. He was on Rhymney ward, a big thank you to Lynn, Louise, Sue and all the other staff whose names I didn't know for your compassion and understanding. Also to his surgeon who was brill. I can't rate you enough.

From reception to MRI department all staff were helpful and welcoming. The X Ray reception was efficient and the MRI radiologists exceptional explaining and carry out procedures with total professionalism and reassurance. An excellent service. This is a brilliant diagnostic service at a local level. My MRI was done in such a way my anxieties were vastly reduced. Thank you to the MRI team today.
