Gwardolau Holiday Cottage

We went here for a long weekend and unfortunately the whether was awful for most of it. However we had a great weekend away, and were looking for a nice cosy / relaxing getaway in January anyway. There is a wood burner for extra warmth in the living room, which was ideal especially with the blankets. You just need wood if you want it for more than one night.

The owner is amazing, a lovely friendly guy. He was happy to give us pointers on where to go for our walks (for the few hours it wasn't raining). There are meant to be lots of lovely walks in the area, one leaving from across the we road to the house. We had 4 dogs with us and this was no problem, there is a little enclosed garden for them and there are no restrictions on where they can go. The town and shops are only about a 5 minute drive away.

We would 100% return here again, just for the cosy place and to see the owner again.

A wonderful air b and b. The host is very friendly and helpful and makes you feel very welcome. The house is great, with plenty of space and all the facilities you could need. With two foot thick walls and a great history this house is one of the best we have stayed in. Thanks Karl.

Superb cosy cottage with lovely log burner. Karl is a great host and the cottage is completely self contained. It is clean, spacious and very comfortable. Good mobile signal and also access to WiFi. Nice garden area with BBQ. A great location. Highly recommend this place.

Lovely place to stay - just on the outskirts of Rhyader - good for seeing Red Kites and if you enjoy walking . Karl the host is excellent - nothing too much trouble. 2nd stay and will definitely stay again.

Fantastic little cottage, had everything we needed for a family, owners were very accomadating and couldn't do enough for us . Fantastic walks and veiws on your door step.

Lovely, peaceful stay, home away from home

A little too far from the local town to walk, but very nicely situated. Pleasant, if slightly unkempt private garden area. Good family kitchen with everything you need. Just needs front yard sprucing up a bit, but I would definitely consider returning.
