Cafe highly recommended! Beautiful spot and easily located on the road around the Elan reservoirs. Cafe was warm and welcoming, charming little gift shop inside. Place was immaculate and menu enticing. Staff very attentive and our dogs were made welcome. Food was spot on, good variety, tasty, hearty portions and well presented. One of the best cafes I’ve visiting a long time!

We stopped for a coffee and cake after a walk around Cwm Elan. The staff are friendly and the tearoom is beautifully set out with views over the opposite hills.
We're already planning a return visit one day soon.

Stayed for 1 night here after spending the day seeing the elan valley dam's and can honestly say it's a fabulous place to stay. Claerwen room is where we stayed and it was a good size with an enormous comfortable bed. Staff were lovely and friendly and the breakfast outstanding. The little shop that sells gifts and souvenirs is all at a good price too. Will definitely return.

We turned up all muddy having been mountain biking all morning, but we were really welcomed. The staff were friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much bother.
The tuna sandwiches with crisps on the side were very tasty, I'd recommend this venue for sure!

"While touring the surrounding scenery, you can take a break here and enjoy a comfortable lunch. The staff is very friendly, the service is excellent, the place is clean, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. There are also some unique souvenirs. If I have the time next time, I will definitely consider staying here."

Stopped here for two nights in their ground floor dog friendly room. Spacious bright room with patio doors onto the terrace. Spotlessly clean and although they’re not open for evening meals they can supply a cold platter for the evening which was much more than we could eat. Beautiful and peaceful location especially after 4pm when the cafe closed and day trippers departed. Breakfast was great and even a sausage for our dog.
Service was very good, despite the sign saying pls be patient they were short staffed.
You may want to check they’re open for food before travelling as they don’t appear to be open on their summer opening hours yet.
Highly recommend if you want a quiet location and beautiful walks in the doorstep. We’ll definitely return.

Stayed here for a few nights recently. Stunning location well off the beaten track in the middle of the most stunning scenic area. Lovely cosy room, huge tasty breakfast and the nicest staff - cannot fault it! Even if you don't intend staying well worth calling in for a Sunday Lunch or something from their very impressive Cake collection. Oh, and Dog Friendly too!!

Stumbled across this place as I was exploring the dams and reservoir. Decided to stop here for a spot of lunch and was well worth it. Its a beautiful, well kept place with friendly staff. And the lunch was just lovely. The friendly chaffinches came and sat by on the nearby fence posts and even on the edges of the table hoping I'd spare some food as I enjoyed the food and good views.

Stopped here on the way back to Craig Goch Dam. We got some drinks and a Gluten Free Brownie, it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

We had a fantastic 2 night stay here with our baby and dog. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable and the location was perfect for long and short walks in the stunning surroundings. But the thing that made Penbont House really special was the staff - we were made to feel so incredibly welcome and treated like family. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable and we massively appreciated it. Baby and dog loved the fuss too! We will definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat. Thank you so much!

Such an amazing place! The staff are very welcoming, friendly & helpful. We had the best afternoon tea ever! With tea pots of flavored gin which was something different, the food was really tasty & there was so much! We had our dog with us & she was treated to a bowl of water & her own plate of dog treats which was a lovely touch from the staff.

We stopped by earlier today, starved & soaked! The lovely staff put a table together in a quiet area for us & our dog. The food was delicious, views were gorgeous and we were really grateful for the lovely service we had. We'll definitely come back & will look to stay next time. Thank you!

Perfectly located B&B, in the heart of the Elan Valley. Have visited twice, as an afternoon tea customer, and as an overnight guest. On the latter visit it was combined with a talk by Alyn Wallace (professional astro-landscape photographer), where a buffet was provided in the evening. Excellent evening, excellent accommodation, fantastic breakfast and very friendly staff. Very highly recommended.

We stayed for a weekend here, the breakfasts were superb, the staff were always friendly and helpful. The coffee and cakes are fantastic.

The room was spotless, they even tidied our dogs bed!

Couldn't fault it. Perfect place to unwind in Autumn with lots of beautiful walks on the doorstep.

Dotty the dog:
Sausages at breakfast, lots of nice walks and smells. Finally a human who can make my bed to my high standards.
I give 5/5 borks.

I was bought afternoon tea here for my 2020 Christmas present. For obvious reasons it took a while to get here but it was well worth the wait. The food is superb, tasty savouries and blissful cakes. Service was friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble.
We've done a few afternoon teas and this is definitely one of the very best.
