Gellihaf House

I simply can’t rate Gellihaf house highly enough! From the moment we arrived our expectations where exceeded. The house itself is stunning, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean everywhere. The room was beautiful, spacious and the bed was really comfy. It all felt very luxurious and we didn’t want to leave! The breakfast was absolutely delicious with a range of cereal/granola, fresh fruit and bread, fresh orange juice, tea and coffee and several cooked options. We opted for a full Welsh one day and eggs on toast another day, both days the breakfast was cooked to perfection and delicious. Cath and Howard are so so lovely, the welcome you in like old friends the moment you arrive and make you feel so welcome and comfortable for your entire stay. We will definitely be back and will be recommending a visit to all our friends and family.

My Husband and I stayed here for 2 nights instead of staying in Central Cardiff- it was only an easy 35 minute drive away, and im so glad we did-what an absolute gem of a place!!! I don't even know where to start, it's stunning. Every aspect of your stay is catered to- if you need any information on the area or things to do- then both Cath and Howard can list many things to do and see, as well as places to eat. The rooms are luxurious, immaculate and everything is of the highest standard and quality. Comfy beds and beautiful bed linen ensures a great nights sleep! Lovely spacious bathroom, and a shower I didnt want to get out of! Breakfast each morning was a complete knockout too. Fresh fruits and yogurt, freshly made (served still warm) bread, blueberry muffins and granola- all made by the wonderful Cath! Followed by a delicious fry up- items of your choice all meats provided by the local butcher- we couldn't fault it. Cath and Howard are the most perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble!!! (If Carlsberg made B&B hosts!!!) try and take the time to look at all the (vast) beautiful pictures and memorabilia dotted around the place, the history is astounding! We can't wait to visit again!!! (Until then, we off to stick a fence around some land....cheers Howard!!!) Can't reccomend the place enough!! See you soon!!

A stunning bed and breakfast accompanied with wonderful scenery. Our host, Cath was welcoming and happy to accommodate for any unique request we had during our stay. The breakfast is made from fresh, quality ingredients locally sourced and prepared perfectly. The cleanliness was faultless and I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to unwind!

My husband and I were invited to a cream tea at the newly renovated Gellihaf House which is under new ownership. Three of my American cousins have been staying here and have had excellent food here and can highly recommend it if your looking for somewhere to stay. The hosts Howard and Catherine are really lovely and we had a guided tour around the house yesterday after our cream tea which was delicious with scones made my Catherine. It is situated in a quiet location with amazing views and in easy reach of both Newport and Cardiff as well as the M4

What a great place. This Boutique B&B is located not far away from Cardiff,so if you thinking on short quality get away is perfect. The craftsmanship and intention to details are amazing. All rooms and bathrooms are very well done. You also get a homemade, locally sourced food. I am very impressed with this location and also find out they do amazing afternoon tea. Well done Gellihaf House and keep the good work!

Stunning place to stay with a very happy couple as hosts! The rooms and views are gorgeous and both Cath & Howard saw to our every need during our stay. Great place to be, especially as it is only a short trip to explore Cardiff during the day and then relax in the peace & quiet.

Whilst in Wales we had the pleasure of staying in this wonderful home and experiencing the 5* hospitality of the Hosts, Cath and Howard. We were made very welcome from our arrival and we really enjoyed everything about our stay. The rooms are very tastefully furnished and the bed was so comfortable and Cath's cooking was 1st class. When back in the area we will definetly return and would like to sample the afternoon tea which comes with very high recommendation.

Wow what a great Boutique Bed & Breakfast Gellihaf House is. Found this amazing place when looking for a break on our way to Carmarthenshire. The photos do not do it justice; the rooms are huge but very inviting at the same time. Cath and Howard are very attentive and have created a fabulous place to stay, so much so you will not want to leave.

Had the most amazing afternoon tea today in Gellihaf House. The hosts were lovely and we had a tour of the house by our very enthusiastic host who clearly adored his home, and quite rightly so. The inside had been decorated to an enquisite standard, it was like stepping back in time to what the house may have looked like in its original state - with the addition of television and internet access. The food was lovely and far more than I could eat, the smell of the freshly baked scones from the kitchen was a dream. Completely underpriced for the standard of venue and food - will definitely be going back.

Stayed here in the night of our wedding. Howard and Cath we amazing hosts and the stay was memorial for everyone who stayed.
Nothing was to much for our hosts

This is a cracking B&B / boutique hotel get away near Brecon Beacons and not far from Cardiff. Bags of old country house character - massive rooms, log fires, good food etc. A brilliant base for exploration of this beautiful part of South Wales. A beaming, friendly, Welsh welcome guaranteed when you get there. Already looking at dates for when I can stay again!

This is the most beautiful of houses that allows you to relax in a luxury setting. Cath and Howard are the perfect hosts. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and attention that has gone into this perfect Idyll.

Ok, I'm biased, but have to say having seen Gellihaf House in the early days (without a roof !) and now seeing what Howard & Cath have done with it, the transformation is exceptional. Wow what an amazing place with stunning views and great welcoming hosts. The afternoon tea was perfect for my baby shower. I would recommend this place to anyone we will definitely be back again soon
