I stayed here after climbing some of the local well known mountains. I can't comment on food as unfortunately I had a funny turn and couldn't stomach anything. Not related to the hotel I hasten to add. As a hotel, it looks a bit dated, but it's clean, there wasn't a spec of dust anywhere, the rooms have ample space, Twin room for me and my mate. The bathroom served it's purpose. If you are looking for somewhere that doesn't cost a lot, Bessemer is it. It's only 30 min walk from the town, or a 2 min bus ride.

Had a great one night stay here, rooms had everything we needed, staff are lovely and breakfast was delicious. Only around a 20 minute drive to Pen-y-fan too which was easy.

Booked for two nights in a midweek break. The hotel and room were beautifully clean and very well presented. The room itself was large and airy. The en-suite bathroom was small, but adequate for our needs. All staff were helpful and friendly. I enjoyed looking at the old photographs of the local area around the hotel. We had breakfasts and evening meals on both days; the service was excellent and the food was delicious, especially the carvery which was superb! We will definitely stay there again and would recommend this hotel without hesitation. 10/10!

I been coming here for over 20 years with my family for celebrations and birthdays. The staff our great and always make our night a special one. The food and drink is the best and we always feel so welcome. My children who are gown up now still always ask to come here for their birthdays so, I think that speaks for itself.

A proper good meal. Absolutely loved it as always. Thank you for this!!! The carvery is large and plentiful. The place is great for a big meal with ghe whole family. If you dont want the carvery then there are selections for those people (my daughter had bbq chicken with chips). Great desert selections as well. Loved the place as does my son.

Read the reviews before booking here. After a strenuous 14 mile walk on the Horseshoe we were not to fussed about creaking floorboards, a small TV or out of date decor! The hotel serves its purpose with plenty of free parking, excellent service from the staff and a lovely full breakfast with toast and tea or coffee. It's a 25 minute walk into the town centre, we walked through the park (over the main road) downhill there, uphill back. The rooms were rather warm for the end of July, but there is a large fan heater/cooler in the room to sort this out. We would definitely stay here again.

Delicious home made food, carvery available or other menu selections in the restaurant. Great for family occasions or small groups/ couples. Staff are very friendly and all areas are clean and well maintained. Has hotel rooms and a large function room. Has a good size car park. Booking for restaurant is advisable but not always necessary.

Hi
This Hotel offer everything anyone that recognises value for money!
Before I booked I looked over the reviews and to those who score this hotel down, I say to you poor you! Clearly wanting, probably demanding more than the price paid. How dare you! This is a great clean hotel at a great price. Yes it’s a little dated interior decor but remember the price, and it doesn’t detract from you stay.
IT INCLUDED A FULL COOKED BREAKFAST OF YOUR CHOICE.
I despair at people who find fault.
I am the most critical of critics
If you are in the area you will have a comfortable night in a clean bed surrounded by very very helpful staff

Beautiful place and great location 👍☺.

I had the opportunity to stay here for few days and succeeded in my solo walk from this hotel to Neuadd reservoir.

Delicious 😋 food grilled fish 🐠 with coleslaw and vegetables 🥗 for dinner was good.

After returning from my long beautiful solo walk, I had the wild berry sundae which was phenomenal in taste first time to have the same in my life.

Thanks for the same to all staff ✌🤗🆒💦🌍

I was very moved by meeting such generous people during the walk and also near the hotel who guided me through and took good care of me,very lovely people in Merthyr Tydfil.

I thank the manager for giving me the proper directions and to the staff as well ☺ for my solo walk to reservoir's.

As a water student it was a good experience seeing the beautiful mountain view and lovely green nature of surrounding pontsticiil and Neuadd reservoir.

Clean air ice cold pure water 💦💦💦 and beautiful view all over.

A must visit to these sites for water science professional, engineer and scientists. Also those who are into solo walk or group walk this is a must destination.

My next trip will be from Neuadd reservoir to penn y fan ✌👍,will see you soon Bessemer hotel 🏨.

Thanks for your hospitality 😃🙏

Thanks Welsh Water 💦💦💦 for the good Event in red House 🏡 introducing their new initiative in water treatment plant.
