The Pearl is Blackwood's best kept secret.
We always have a great meal. The staff are attentive, friendly and helpful. The food is absolutely excellent 10/10, very keenly priced and worth every penny.
The lamb shish is out of this world.
I recommend you pay them a visit and have a meal there, you will not regret it.

This is our second visit here at this restaurant. First time we had fish and chips which was fab. On this visit we had something from the grill menu. Absolutely marvellous. This restaurant is also handy after visiting the local Maxim cinema up the road.

Soon as you walk in the diner has such a calming atmosphere the service is amazing all employees are so polite and have a massive smile 😃 😊 the food was excellently presented and it looked as good as it tasted I didnt take any pics of the dinner as it was so good I just dug straight in i did manage to remember to take a photo of the desert which is fluffy and tastes amazing !!

Wow! Me and my partner are so impressed! We made an order tonight and had the mixed kebab for one alongside some other dishes (hummus), garlic sauce and chilli sauce. This is hands down the best kebab we have had in the area and in many other areas as well! The meat was actually lovely and moist, with a smoky charcoal flavour, the lamb shish was tender! Most kebabs always overcook the lamb but the lamb and ribs from here were lovely and moist. The tzaziki was full of cucumber and had a lovely fresh flavour, hummus lovely and smooth! Also good variety of salad. Generous portions and a great attitude from the staff, we didn't realize they closed at 9pm and arrived five mins late to pick up our order and they stayed open for us despite our lateness. Very impressed and this will be our new go to! Thank you very much 😊

Excellent fish & chips in Blackwood - we will go nowhere else! The pearl is a nice addition to the takeaway space, with table service so you can enjoy your food indoors. Excellent selection of different dishes to try and all served hot and promptly.

Not the standard chippy. Has its own sit down restaurant with an alcohol licence Can't fault anything here. Meal deals offered and very reasonable. Highly recommended

My 1st time here and I was not disappointed. I ordered potatoes fritters with mince beef and onion pie and it batter on my fritters was perfect! I'm not a big fan of batter but this was great and not at all greasy. Staff members were friendly and very helpful, the atmosphere was relaxing. There was plenty of room in the restaurant I even had my son's trike by our booth and people still had room to move! My kids loved their dinner. I would definitely come back here

Ordered the mixed charcoal kebab two and what an amazing meal. Generous portion sizes, lots of variety, the food was not greasy but flavoursome. Would definitely order again. The profiterole cake and carrot cake were also lovely! Quick delivery, great service.

Amazing venue! typical chip shop at front of shop but great stylish cafe/restaurant to the rear, great selection of food from your typical large portion fish and chips to full English breakfast, even some well thought out vegetarian and vegan options would highly recommend a visit if your shopping in town even if its just for a coffee

Disgusting, vile, cold, flavourless is not something you will say when eating here!

I ordered a large cod & chips with Irish curry sauce and wow 👀 it was delicious 😋.

The curry sauce was full of flavour, just the right amount of sugar and spice and all things nice.
The largest portion of cod you could dream of, cooked perfectly in a delicious batter the thick juicy chunks of cod are in every bite.

As for the The chips 🍟 .. Well these are divine, huge, chunky, hot, and cooked perfectly, just the right texture.

This has to be the best fish and chip shop I have ever eaten at, even seaside establishments such as the ones in Barry are mediocre in comparison.
I hope codfather never changes.

One suggestion please add a spicy curry sauce for your chicken curry options please and maybe use shredded chicken breast to give it that unique handmade taste and feeling 😉

We went in for Cod, but ended up with a breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly and you didn't have to pay until you were finished which is unusual in this day and age.

Absolutely beautifully cooked food, top quality & excellent value. Will be coming here again!
