A great little museum that you can tell a lot of care goes into. Each display area has large books with extra information so that you can read in a lot of detail, which I particularly liked. And there are also additional pamphlets and maps you can take home to read even more. There are old machines, miniature models, coins, old fashioned toys...all sorts, and I learnt a lot. A cosy cafe at the rear with inexpensive drinks. There is a large long-stay car park next door which is very handy and it's a quick walk to other parts of the town. I found it very enjoyable and hope many others get a chance to visit here too

Visited with Hinckley Round Table on a weekday evening group tour. A superb museum with a variety of interesting displays on the history of Hinckley and the surrounding area. Will definitely return in the near future!

I love this ' historical gem ' the contents of the museum are kept up to date and so interesting based on local and British history throughout the ages. Love to take the grandchildren as there was a super quizz we enjoyed together searching and finding out facts. Although there is a quaint tea room inside there is a gorgeous cottage garden just out the back with setting but tastefully situated. Very special on a sunny afternoon. Also the museum hosts activity days such as 'Roman Days 'and 'Wash days' both interactive with an opportunity for children to dress and take part in past occupations. Such fun. Please don't drive through Hinckley on a Sunday after 2pm without stopping off for a trip back in time.

If you live in the area & haven't been - you should! Really interesting, love learning the history of the house and the history of the stocking industry. Run by volunteers who are really helpful & knowledgeable. Brilliant museum.

A lovely community run museum. Well worth the £2 entry. Spent nearly 2 hours looking at the exhibits with my 7 year old. The little cafe is also really nice. My 3 year old was fascinated by the old wodden toys

A small volunteer run museum in a very old building, but they produce great displays every year and have a very good range of local objects. There wash day aimed at young children is first class

Excellent find - run by volunteers and they should be congratulated for ensuring this venue stays open. More 'power to their elbow' - as the old saying goes. Very well done. Alan

Great little Museum for Hinckley. They also allow people to use the gardens for their wedding phones for a donation.
