Went to do the ultimate pork pie making course, around 11 people participating.
The pork pie making course was run by Amanda, a local artist who offers her skills to teach pie making, lots of local knowledge, not only pie making but history of pork pies, their filings and where and why they came about. Brockleby's not only produces hand made Melton Mowbray pork pies, but they also produce all the other pies like, steak and ale, steak ale and stilton, fish pies called penguin pies. Anyway the course was fantastic, a must to do if you like cooking, making things, so add pork pie making skills to your bow. Brilliant and well taught course. Not expensive, and a must is to purchase some other Brockleb'y pies while your there, so a cool bag, or cool box is good. 3 hours, so take a coffee cup, or buy one in the garden centre cafe next door, popular for breakfast if there early, and a folding kitchen bar stool, if standing is hard. Lol. A must course, and very enjoyable too. Bob..

The pork pie experience was purchased as a Xmas present and was a lovely surprise. The lady hosting was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable about the origin of pork pies and the local area of Melton Mowbray. The interactive experience of making your very own pork pie was fantastic and fun. A pleasant and relaxing evening with a great product to bring home. Definitely recommend for all you pork pie lovers.

An excellent pie making experience. Extremely well organised and perfectly ran by Claire who was so knowledgeable and had the best sense of humour. We would highly recommend this workshop to anyone after an enjoyable few hours doing something different.

A friend and me did the Ultimate Pie Making course on Saturday. It was a really well delivered course, Beth was a great and amusing instructor. We made a park pie from scratch including adding the jelly. I'd attend another course there and would def recommend to others.

The Melton Mowbray pork pie experience was a fabulous and fun night with “Beth” our expert pork pie instructor. Beth ensured we all took home a wonderful pie to cook later and the atmosphere was fun and easy. Highly recommend and can’t wait to eat it 🥧🤩 thank you x

The pork pie masterclass is brilliant and you'll leave with the best pies you've ever tasted. Clare taught us with a warm and very informative style and the whole morning was great fun. Their ploughman's lunch is delicious and good value. We also bought a selection of Brockleby's other pies - we've eaten one which was excellent and we're looking forward to the others!

We have ordered pies online from Brockleby’s on a couple of occasions now. As we live in Cornwall, they have to travel a fair distance to get to us, but that’s no problem. Our orders have arrived wonderfully packaged and the pies still frozen so we can easily get them straight into our freezer. The pies themselves are fabulously tasty, filled to the brim with excellent pastry. Proper pies! 🥧 We’ll definitely be ordering online again.

Fantastic pie making class. Claire, our tutor, was really informative about the history of the area and its pie making.
Step by step instructions and demo.
Everyone made a pie to take home and finished an already cooked pie.
The takeaway picnic lunch was great too.
A great gift for a foodie or group of friends

We did the bread making workshop last night and it was brilliant. Div and Amanda were really helpful and knowledgeable. It was lots of fun and we got to take the delicious bread home that we made. We can’t wait to come back to do another workshop. Thank you

Enjoyable and informative 2-hour bread making class. To my surprise we were intact able to make both a spelt loaf and cheese and onion soda bread within that time, and without it feeling rushed.

The host was very friendly and knowledgeable, and we took home lots of goodies. Would recommend!

Fantastic time spent at the Pork Pie Workshop. A great mix of history, teaching and doing! You take away a cooked pie, a raw pie and the pastry and gelatin to make another of your own so you certainly won’t feel short of pie. A mix of ages too, so suited to all. Thanks to everyone at Brockleby’s!

The Pork Pie experience is really well run - Claire was incredibly professional in running the class and had a wealth of anecdotes and history. We all successfully made what look like excellent pies and look forward to sharing them. A great food preparation experience.

Attended Brockleby's for a Bakery Evening Pork Pie Making Workshop. Beth led the workshop and was very friendly, interactive and informative. It was a really enjoyable couple of hours with a pie to take home at the end of it. Would recommend to any pie lovers, those who enjoy baking or anyone who is up for a hands-on activity. Who doesn’t love a proper pork pie!

What an absolutely fantastic experience we’ve had learning the skills to make the famous pork pie - made how it should!

I’m just hoping when we come to cook them over Christmas we follow the instructions down to a T so we don’t end up burning them!!
